Dig - Incubus

Here is something I wrote in 2014:

I have always liked this song. For some reason, like many Incubus songs, it has taken me years to see how deep this band’s lyrics are. It speaks to the dynamic we all share where at one moment we are calm, at peace, then due to some external event, usually with another, we “forget” and turn on each other or even on ourselves. Look around you can see in yourself, family, country, world.. micro to macro..

The ego is necessary and always a part of us, we just have work on not allowing it to “Drive” (another great Incubus song!) us around!!! And at the macro level, it is ego with a capital E! But since it bubbles up from the micro, control of ego must start within the individual, to the group and then the macro.
