Time is supposed to run out, time is supposed to
Sun is supposed to go down, sun is supposed to
Like your mood, like your power, like your battery
Rise, fall, rise, life, death, life again
Sky, ground, sky, day, night, day again
Rise, fall, rise, life, death, life again
Sky, ground, sky, light, dark, light again
Light, dark, light again, light, dark, light again

💡 Choonza Inside is a home for nomadic citizens—a base and creative hub for nomadic creators where living spaces and creative spaces come together.

The goal of the Choonza Inside project is to build homes around the world, enabling people to live wherever they want, whenever they want. Since this is challenging to achieve alone, we thought, why not unite those who share this vision? Nomadic creators can form a community, share living and creative costs, and benefit from the results together. If we could establish 12 homes worldwide, it would be possible to live in each for a month, rotating through them over the course of a year. And if you can live like that for a year, why not for three years, ten years, or even a lifetime?

Starting in 2025, Choonza Inside will officially launch its first location in collaboration with Dolphin Hotel in Uley, Ladakh. For more details about the Choonza Inside Membership promotion, please visit the link below.

Q. What is the Choonza Road?

1-01.jpg

  1. Choonza Road is a collective experiment for nomadic creators.

  2. In To Survive, Jacques Attali said: “To exist everywhere at once, one must live as lightly as possible, free from cumbersome fixed possessions, building only on nomadic assets such as ideas, experiences, knowledge, and connections, while reflecting not on reasons for ownership but on reasons for being.”

  3. Could blockchain and cryptocurrency, with all their controversies, qualify as "nomadic assets"? Could they serve as tools or weapons for nomadic creators? Having experimented with their possibilities over the past few years, Choonza is now ready to boldly expand the scope of this exploration.

  4. Together, we share a space, experiencing unfamiliar places both collectively and individually. The experiences and inspiration gained there nourish our creative work—writing, drawing, photography, or even creating music or videos.

  5. The resulting creations are published in the Wisdom Race community on Steemit, a blockchain-based content platform. Participants may also share their work simultaneously on their other channels. Choonza provides guidance and assistance with Steemit registration and account creation for new applicants.

  6. Choonza publishes the creative works produced by Choonza Road participants.

Q. How is Choonza Road Ladakh conducted?

  1. Choonza Road is not a travel package, and Choonza is not a travel guide. However, I share my experiences of Ladakh in a completely new way with participants.

  2. Choonza Road starts and ends in Ladakh. We meet in Ladakh, and you must come to Leh, the capital of Ladakh, to join us. I will be staying in Ladakh, and I can assist with visa processing and help with Indian immigration and domestic travel (Delhi - Leh).

  3. What will we do in Ladakh?

  • Choonza Road Ladakh is conducted in two formats :

  • Choonza Road Journeying : We explore various parts of Ladakh, discovering hidden gems like the Tsokar and Gya villages in Changthang Plateau, Pokar zong, a site for Guru Padmasambhava's meditation, Safi Valley with its glaciers and lakes, and Zanskar, the final destination for many travelers. These are destinations rarely visited by other tourists, and we will create our unique map of Ladakh. The time spent at Dolphin Hotel is also included.

  • Choonza Road Staying : This format focuses on spending time in solitude and immersion, experiencing Ladakh while staying at Dolphin Hotel, the first Choonza Inside location, in Uley village. We will explore nearby villages such as Hemis Shukpachan, Mangyu, Saspochay, and the lakes and valleys near Uley village. After spending time at Dolphin Hotel, we will go on a final group trip.

  • During our time together, we will learn from each other. We can learn Ladakhi language, music, and cooking from the locals, and share our knowledge with them.

  • Every evening, we will cook and eat together, drink, sing, and dance.

  • We will talk. Constantly.

  • We will write and draw. Constantly.

  • If writing or drawing doesn’t come easily, we’ll simply relax and enjoy the moment. Time in Ladakh will be fulfilling in itself.

  • Choonza Road schedule may change depending on local conditions and participants' conditions.

Choonza Road project concludes with participants presenting the creative results they have produced in the form of publications and exhibitions. After the project, Choonza Road participants are eligible to participate in publishing and exhibitions. They will collaborate for a period of time to plan and hold these events. Q. What are Changthang and Zanskar in Ladakh, and Uley, home to Dolphin Hotel, like?

1-02.jpg

  1. Ladakh, which means "Land of High Passes" in Tibetan, is located in the northeastern part of the Indian subcontinent, primarily at altitudes above 3,500 meters in the Himalayan mountain range. Historically, Ladakh was part of the Jammu and Kashmir region, but in 2019, it was separated from Jammu and Kashmir and became a Union Territory directly governed by the central government, resulting in significant changes. A road to Ladakh is open only during the summer months, making access limited and seasonal.

  2. Changthang Plateau is a high-altitude region spanning Ladakh and northwestern Tibet. This area is a cold desert with very little rainfall, and during the harsh winters, temperatures can drop to as low as -30 to -40°C. Despite this extreme climate, the nomadic Changpa people live here. The name "Changpa" means "people of the north," and their lifestyle is humble and simple. Their way of life, built around harmony with nature and a strong sense of community and mutual support, has lasted for centuries. In addition to well-known destinations like Pangong Tso and Tsomoriri, Changthang is home to hidden gems such as Tsokar Salt Lake, Gya Village, and Hanle Village. There are many lesser-known, beautiful spots waiting to be explored. I absolutely love Changthang. Would you like to create a new Changthang map with Choonza Road?

  3. Zanskar is one of the most remote areas in Ladakh, and even among Ladakhis, there are more people who haven't been to Zanskar than those who have. It's so far away and the road conditions are so poor that simply getting there by car is the beginning of a challenging journey. However, in 2025, a new road will open from Chilling to Padum, the capital of Zanskar, making travel to Zanskar much easier. A trip to Zanskar is also a monastery tour, where you'll visit important Tibetan Buddhist monasteries like Phuktal Gompa, Sani Gompa, Karsha Gompa, and Zongkul Gompa. The hiking trails along the Zanskar River offer breathtaking views that are not to be missed. While the new road will allow for quicker and easier access to Zanskar, it also means missing out on many of the stunning sights only accessible by the old road. I plan to explore both the old and new routes to experience all that Zanskar has to offer. Would you like to join me?

  4. Uley is a remote village located about 80 km west of Leh, which takes approximately 2-3 hours by car. There is no public transport that reaches the village, and the last 20 minutes are on an unpaved road. The small village consists of around seven households, with no restaurants, grocery stores, cafes, or supermarkets. Uley is the summer grazing ground for yak and zho, a hybrid of yak and cow, and is also a prime habitat for snow leopards. In addition to snow leopards, wild animals such as ibex, Himalayan fox, and other Himalayan wildlife thrive around the Uley Valley. The first Choonza Inside location, Dolphin Hotel, is situated in this village. Stay at Dolphin Hotel in quiet solitude, immersed in nature, and experience focused concentration through isolation. Don't worry, we're all connected.
