Proper schedule leads a healthy body, it helps the body to carry out its various functions as well as helps to recover from damage and diseases. A study is done by the Binghamton University of New York that the problem with sleeping late is that people who go to bed late appear to have less
control over their obsessive thoughts.
What Are Obsessive Thoughts or Intrusive Thoughts? (the main problems with sleeping late)
Intrusive thoughts are an unwelcome involuntary thought, image, or unpleasant ideas that may become an obsession. The thoughts that are upsetting or distressing and feel difficult to deal with.
The researchers monitored 20 individuals diagnosed with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD). OCD leads to repetitive behavior and 10 individuals with OCD like symptoms during one week of sleep.
Meredith Coles the professor of psychologist said,”We find that there are specific negative consequences of sleeping at the wrong times, That’s something to educate the public about ”.
Participants completed sleep diaries and daily ratings of perceived degree of control over obsessive thoughts and ritualized behaviors. The researchers found that the previous night’s bedtime significantly perceived the ability to control their obsessive thoughts and compulsive behavior on the day.
