My Travel Diary Page # 65 Mosques in Mysore

Mysore has different religious centers spread across the town. Mosques are one of them, and they are beautiful with their architecture. The one in the pic would be the most simple one I saw in Mysore. There were many with little details in green colour and most of them look old but well maintained.

One of those Mosques I found was Masjid E Azam It was written Arabic college at the gate. We could not visit the place though, It was the prayer time when we were there and I am not sure about the enterance too. There are many such mosques in Mysore which are too good in architecture.

Having many mosques around meant listening to prayer calls from all of them. Where I was staying had 3 mosques neaby and all of them had a prayer calls with a minute difference in time, which kind of sounded like an echo. It reminded me of the vibe of UAE where I stayed very close to a mosque.

Well, this mosque known as "Apna Ghar" was the landmark I kept to trace my way back to my friend's place. And for a long time, we didn't know why a mosque was known as "Apna Ghar" and later understood it was an orphanage run by a Muslim organization and they have a school also inside. The mosque in the picture is also decorated but I was doubtful if I would offend anyone by clicking pictures.
