How We Celebrated Our 72nd Independence Day!

in india •  6 years ago  (edited)

Our motorcycle club UBM - United Bikers of Mangalore on the occasion of the Indian Independence day decided to donate funds to a local school. Everyone rode on their motorcycles but unfortunately I had to sit this one out as I'm unable to ride just yet.

I've made a donation towards the cause but couldn't attend it due to some reasons.

The school is missing out on a computer so they can teach their children how to use the computer. I've got a desktop computer that's been unused for a long time and I've decided to give that away. But for starters our club has donated some funds they can use in the interim.

My desktop is a bit old but I had spent a lot of money on it and it had very good hardware. It needs a new hard drive and everything needs to be checked out that's all. But I reckon it won't be expensive to fix it up. These are the times I wish the crypto-market wasn't in the dumpster so I could actually do more.

Anywho, I'm going to be traveling for another round of Visa appointment and some meetings I have lined up in Bangalore city over the next few days. @varunpinto and I will be getting it sorted out once I am back in town. I also have few other components lying around which is good enough to get them started. Once they can get someone to teach computers to the kids I'm sure there's more we can do for them.

But on a personal note, I didn't have the best of days though, it was raining like hell today and I slipped and fell down a few stairs as the staircase was all wet and I was carrying down a suitcase and hurt myself a bit. I also stayed back home as I was generally feeling under the weather in the first half and had to prep my documents for my visa appointment.

But on the bright side I watched an amazing movie "Gold" tonight which was about India's first Olympic Gold medal in Hockey in 1948. Felt kinda inspired to come back home and get my thoughts out.

August 15th is our Independence day. It was our 72nd Independence Day this time. I hope that the people from my country continue extending help to one another and grow together in the years to come!

Happy Independence Day everyone! Jai Hind!
