India: WazirX Founder Gets Interviewed By NewsX On RBI's Cryptocurrency Ban

in india •  6 years ago  (edited)

Indian media isn't very well nuanced with the working of cryptocurrency and peer to peer systems and the legality of them all. However, the channel puts forth appropriate questions to WazirX founder Nischal Shetty.

Watch the video here:

Remember to give this post which will clarify more on the subject matter: This Is What RBI's Ban Does To Your Cryptocurrency If You Are From India!

We're only a few days away from when the initial draft of the regulation is supposed to be released as well as the next date for the hearing in the Supreme Court of India.

Fingers crossed and hoping for the best. Let's keep pushing for better governance and regulations in this space in India.

I can only imagine the bias against the crypto community in India. As I listened to the woman in the beginning she said that exchanges 'elude' and 'circumvent' the law. Of course they can claim it that its their job to ask the hard question but we can all hear their tone. Kudos to the dude from WazirX as he answered the questions calmly and precisely.

I also noticed that the presenter in very beginning of the video say that RBI has told the banks to not to deal with any body dealing with crypto. This is technically wrong because this would mean that if I am trading crypto personally, then I can't even have bank accounts for other uses as well. It hurts my heart to see that nobody is calling them out on their crap.

My respect to the brothers their who are holding the fort and I promise that sooner or later you'll see this world change for better and you guys would lead the way.

I came here after going up and down through that misused #introduceyourself post, and then saw a wrongfully presented face of cryptocurrency to the Indian audience.
That post will affect the Indian authors here on steemit (in some way atleast, although I have hope in the steemit community that they won't generalise that to the country), and the news will affect atleast the conservative minds in India against the use of cryptocurrencies and the significance with which this technology might affect the future.
Regards.
After all this, I'm delighted by the way Nischal Shetty handled the questions asked to him without trying to play safe and say or misquote anything on television, just to evade the interview. And this is the reason why I'm hopeful that the Indian youth is very capable to accept criticism and perform even under pressure.
I'm hopeful that fellow Indian authors will soon accept it as a platform to share their opinions and knowledge and that incident will not be repeated; and that cryptocurrencies' significance will be understood and implemented in the near future.

And I'm sorry for that misplaced Regards, I need sleep :D
