  1. High frequency platforms that have attention and trust of users, suck several independent products and turn them into their features.

English sucked Arabic numerals and made it a feature.

Phones sucked cameras and made it a feature.

Chat apps are sucking games and fintech.

  1. Pick the professor, not the class.
    Pick the boss, not the company.
    Pick the person, not the relationship.
    Pick the investor, not valuation.
    Pick the market, not the product.
    Pick the character, not the personality.
    Pick the skill, not the degree.
    Pick the war, not the weapon.

  2. Founders in India often demonstrate a zero sum mindset.

Win of someone doesn’t need to come with loss of someone else.

Wealth is not zero sum. It’s not the same as limited college seats with millions fighting for them.

India market cap may breach 6 trillion in a few years.

  1. Envy and inspiration are methods to achieve equality.

Envy is wishing someone who’s above comes down to your own level.

Inspiration is wishing you go up to a higher level where someone is/has been.

Only one method is corrosive.

  1. A lot of people feel founders of companies succeed as they are smart, talented and connected.

I think founders succeed as they have insane tenacity, ability to take risks and can unlearn quickly.

They eventually become smarter, talented and connected through their journey.

  1. Technology maybe moving profit pools away from products and services that provide convenience and instead getting concentrated in products and services that provide hope and non tangible benefits.

  2. I have spent as many years doing B2B business as B2C. IMO, intensity of running B2C biz is probably 100x of B2B as every internal move or market dynamics has ability to cause life and death situation for the business.

The rush is captivating, often creating life time addiction.

  1. Without consistent inflow of new insights, businesses are bound to become extinct.

Seeking truth is underrated.

  1. Good leadership often means less time reacting via superior anticipating.

  2. Zero-sum leaders expect followership.
    Non-Zero-Sum leaders create leaders.

Non-Zero-Sum leaders get followership as a byproduct of creating leaders. Leaders that often surpass them in life.

  1. Social media fuels mimetic desires like no other medium in human history leading to unprecedented envy and rivalry.

Human peace will thus require new scapegoats at much faster rate.

  1. Leaders that don’t share credit publicly with team, may create teams that build work kingdoms to get validation from the bottom.

Leaders that share credit with their team publicly, may create teams that hire fewer people to not diffuse their glory on credit bestowed.

  1. I wonder if per capita growth of a country can be predicted from trends on time spent on social or entertainments apps.

  2. Twitter, if used carefully, is a great way to attain clarity of thought by tweets that force condensed articulation and subsequent feedback loop.

  3. Asian products, be it religions or cuisines or b2c tech products, are hard to scale outside asia as they are opposite of simple and standardized.

They are also hard to kill, as they are opposite of simple and standardized.
