A Few Thoughts On Cryptocurrencies On India's 69th Republic Day!

Hey Firepower,

Although I agree with your belief that blockchain technologies are beneficial in many fields, I wholeheartedly oppose your opinion that crypto currencies are able to completely replace conventional currencies. I understand that the government may often seem to be inefficient and corrupt, especially in India, however they provide us with one very important thing; structure. Without such a structure, we would dissolve into anarchy. Furthermore, governments are responsible for infrastructural developments which bring roads, street lights, signs to our nation, albeit very slowly. I also see cryptocurrencies in their current form as a dangerous menace to the incomes of honest hardworking people who have been manipulated by the depiction of cryptocurrencies in modern media as a “get rich quick” scheme with legitimacy behind them. At the end of the day, cryptocurrencies have no meaningful substance of value other than the block chain technology and the interest of people, the latter of which is a delicate factor based on human emotions. This is why I see Steemit as a gem as it is built upon the contributions of people like you and me.

I’d love to further talk about this topic if you would like.
