Happy Republic Day to all my Indian Friends

As a child I was always confused between the Republic Day and Independence Day of India to be very honest. I was slow in learning so it always took me more time to understand these kinds of things. But like any Indian I do know now and then also how much importance both of these days hold for every single Indian. Republic day is when the Constitution of India was formed and it gave some identity to the Country which was on 26th January 1950. On this day India was declared as a sovereign country. Independence day is when Indian actually got freedom from Britishers in totality on 15th August 1947.

India has come a long way since it got it's independence from Britishers, after a long reign of britishers for almost 90 years. Our country was destroyed and crippled in every possible manner in these 90 years and it was not easy to bounce back from there and reach to where it is right now.

Today also when we hear stories of all the freedom fighters of India, we feel raged on the atrocities that were caused. Today people around the world criticize India for some of it's economic factors like the population, poverty and illiteracy but to think of it the base of all of this was laid down in their captivity. India before was a thriving country and probably one of the richest country of the world. Literacy rate was almost 100%, there was barely any poverty. People were self-sufficient. Global trades were thriving, there was a sense of abundance in the Country. But it was all ruined in the 90 years leaving India in a state of complete disaster.

To see where India stands today is also a matter of pride. We have grown leaps and bounds from where we were left. Today India has a prominent place on the world stage. No event is complete around the world without the presence of India. Indians excel in almost every field and you will also find Indians in most of the big companies on prominent positions.

Our current Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been impactful in bringing India on the world stage. I have never been in support of politics and I do understand that everything these people do have some personal motive behind it. But when I see India on the world stage it does give me pride.

India is Country of diversity. It's a multi-cultural and multi-religion land. Everyone finds their place here and feels at home. It is made of 28 states, where every state is a mini-country by itself, with different language and culture. Yet when you meet another India out of your culture you never feel different, because though the cultures are different, there is this feeling of brotherhood that binds every Indian with one another.

Days like Republic Day and Independence Day are Indian festivals which are celebrated by every single Indian with a lot of pride and with a feeling of brotherhood. Today I wish all my Indian friends a very Happy Republic Day and we all world towards making our Country beautiful and prosperous.

Happy Republic Day @nainaztengra. I didn't think about this until now, but the Americans and the Indians have two big things in common…we both won our independence from Britain…and we are the largest democracies in the world…India being the largest. Wishing all Indians a wonderful Republic Day!

Yes, and from where they left us we have risen up and shined on the global platforms. It is indeed an achievement.
