Aadhar Not Mandatory(Supreme Court of India)

The Honorable Supreme Court of India, in an interim order has extended the 31 March 2018 Deadline for linking of Aadhar No to Bank A/c's, Mobile Phone No's, PAN No and various welfare schemes. The Five Judges constitution bench which was headed by the CJI (Mr Depak Misra) himself said that date is extended till the matter is fully heard and Judgement is pronounced by the court.

This offers a major relief for the common man who was in a hurry to get his Aadhar No updated for various schemes. The court is hearing the matter of validity of the Aadhar Act itself as it challenges the Fundamental Right of privacy of a citizen.The petition before the Supreme Court has been filed by Karnataka High Court Judge K S Puttuswamy, Shanta Sinha(Magsaysay awardee ), Kalyani Sen Menon who is a feminist researcher, and others.

Though the Aadhar No can prove to be a major backbone to the country its unplanned and chaotic manner of implementation could harm the citizens of the country. Most Bank A/c and Mobile No's have been obtained by the customer by providing a valid identity proof to the Bank or Mobile Service Providers. Re-submission of Aadhar No's to them is merely duplication of work.

So for the time being we can go back to posting on steemit and enjoying life. Not worrying about Aadhar and Bank A/c's Etc.
