This post is for those people who felt shamed being Hindus or Indians after the recent media outcries. If you are not among them, then it is not for you, but you are welcome to read and analyse my thoughts. I know I sound more like a preacher, and complainer , I can't help with it. You might have noticed that in last two days there are less posts in our friends' timeline, asking -"hang these bastards.", with the photos of Sanjhi Ram and others. The reason is that now people started to understand that yes there are possibilities of a political plot. And if it is, then almost everyone fell in it.
We don't want someone outsider call us Indians rapists, and thus feel shamed. You don't want to get blamed too. Just because you are Indian or a Hindu, you are not a rapist right?
In such pressure situations, we do things, such as posting the pics of those alleged ones, and asking for death by hanging, lynching, drowning, or stoning. Any thing left??☺
But if I put myself in the shoes of those who are alleged but not proven guilty, and if I was innocent, you know what i would have felt? I would have felt being raped, yes my character raped, and not by a single person, but by millions of them posting my photo on their timeline.
Any shy and innocent person would feel that, yet a wise one will feel pity also. Pity for the people who fell into these traps so easily, getting their heads messed up in such chaotic situations and get disturbed. What would you feel in this situation if you were innocent but people asking death for you? have you thought about it? You don't know if those people really are guilty or not, do you? No! And none of us know.
You would say that it is not about religion or country, it is about safety of a girl. But do you think it really is about that? If it really was about it, then why on almost every news article the headline contains the word "Hindu"? Why people become judges themselves and want to hang everyone who comes into the sight of the allegation?
I will tell you why, first is because the news agencies know that the word "Hindu rapists" would attract your attention and so they get more views. They will not get it if they don't use this word along with a muslim name Asifa. They know that many of us would create timeline posts and even change our dps.
Why not to wait for the court decision to come out? Why everyone become so much convinced that yes that cruelty really has happened, which none of us really know!
Why our pride and ego gets shaken so easily by few allegations, which might be false. Isn't it better to wait for the truth to come out and not take anything personal? I think that is better.
