Indian Congress Party Says that PM Modi's Temples visits In Nepal are Karnataka Poll Violation.PM Narendra Modi's 2-day visit to Nepal is seen as an attempt by both the countries to restore normalcy in ties. But opposition is fire now in his move few hours remaining before karnataka poll.
Karnataka votes in the crucial assembly elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Day 1 of his visit, He and his counterparts PM Oli announced a direct bus route between Ayodhya and Janakpur, believed to be the birth places of Ram and Sita . He also offered prayers at Janakpur’s Janaki Mandir. The Prime Minister is flew to visit Muktinath and Pashupati Nath and offer prayers at both those temples , the day before when Karnataka votes.
Pashupati Nath is one of the holiest shrines of Lord Shiva. "Lingayats" in Karnataka also worship the "Linga", some of them wear it as a sign of belief around their necks. The symbolism of Modi offering prayers at the Jyotirlinga in Pashupati Nath will not be lost on the Lingayat voters of Karnataka.
Modi has a sense of timing about these things. On the day Gujarat voted, he took a roadshow outside the polling booth which was carried live by TV channels. It may have had an impact on the last minute, undecided voters. He is a clever designer of victory.Even in 2014, in Varanasi, before filing his nomination papers. “Maa Ganga ne mujhe bulaya hai”, those famous words were all over TV channels and newspapers and helped set a narrative for the general election.
In the Gujarat poll, he also spoke about looking China directly in the eye during the Doklam standoff, his sense of political timing about these events. So, Prime Minister Narendra Modi's temple visits in Nepal were a violation of the poll code on a day Karnataka voted, Congress leader Ashok Gehlot said today.
"As there is model code of conduct in Karnataka, PM Modi planned to pray at temples in Nepal instead, just to influence voters. This is not a good trend for democracy. Why did he only choose today as the day?" Mr Gehlot said, alleging that the Prime minister had timed his visit to try and influence voters. The Congress's Siddaramaiah, the Chief Minister of Karnataka , said the PM's temple visits proved that the party is nervous. "It clearly shows that Modi came to know that BJP would be defeated. That is why he visited temples. I do too, but not every day."Voting took place across 222 constituencies in Karnataka today.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has left for India after wrapping up his two-day visit to Nepal . PM Modi worshipped Muktinath Temple. PM Offers Prayers At Pashupatinath Temple.Mayor of Kathmandu Bidya Sundar Shakya presented key of the Kathmandu Metropolitan City to PM Modi at a civic felicitations program in Rastriya Sabha Griha.
Indian PM Modi tweets: Kathmandu is not only the capital of our neighbouring country but is a world in itself. It has a history of its own which dates back to centuries: Vijay Gokhale, MEA . This was a very successful meeting. PM Modi met Nepal PM KP Oli, former PM Sher Bahadur Deuba, Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' and other political leaders.
"During my previous visits, I prayed at Pashupatinath. This time, in addition to Pashupatinath, I went to Janakpur and Muktinath. These places illustrate close ties between our nations" says PM Modi.
The emphasis on “trust” is a result of Oli’s antagonism towards India for allegedly being behind the 2015 ‘blockade’ and keeping the Madhesi agitation simmering. India had also been suspicious of Oli leaning towards China, with talks of opening the border and transport links across the Tibetan plateau into Nepal.
Modi’s trip to Nepal this week would be the first time that he has travelled thrice to a South Asian country.
The experts are judging about PM Modi's cultural visit could play a successful role for for stopping Nepal become a pro China? Would he able to get Victory in Karnatak polls? Had he washed all the sins of economics blockade to Nepal? The time will answered in the upcoming future.
