In June earlier this year, the Indian government made it much harder to operate VPN servers in their country. They demanded that VPN providers hand over information about their users to the government, thus undermining the entire concept of using a VPN.
As a result, the biggest and most serious VPN providers immediately canceled their contracts with server companies in India, making them able to operate VPN servers in the country. Services such as NordVPN, ExpressVPN, Surfshark, and several others did exactly this.
Some countries still operate so-called Virtual servers in India, meaning that they do not run the actual servers from India, but they are able to fake the IP addresses, making it look as if their location is in India, even though they are elsewhere. You can read about this concept in the following article. To put it short, they operate servers in different countries, but those servers are still registered with IP addresses in India. As a result, you will get an Indian IP address as you connect to those servers, even though they are located elsewhere.
But, what is the status for those who want to stream Indian Netflix abroad? Are there any VPNs that will give you access to Indian Netflix in 2022? I have just published an article on the topic and you can find all the information you need in that article.
Check it out! If I were you, I would head over to Indian Netflix to stream the movie Uncharted with Tom Holland today. It is kind of stupid in the last 20 minutes, but besides that, it is awesome.
