I literally cried with news that the pride of India the one who made India nuclear power died.
Atal Bihari Vajpayee BR (pronunciation [əʈəl bɪhaːɾiː ʋaːdʒpai]; 25 December 1924[1] – 16 August 2018)[2] was an Indian politician who served three terms as the Prime Minister of India: first for a term of 13 days in 1996, then for a period of 13 months from 1998 to 1999, and finally, for a full term from 1999 to 2004.
In this I had broadly highlighted Vajpayee's contributions to various fields that are par excellence.
However some of the biggest contributions that i would like to mention again are:
The Pokhran Nuclear Test: Despite opposition from the international community, it was the sheer grit of Vajpayee to go ahead and give a green signal for it. Making India a nuclear power from the aspect of power generation, as well as for weaponry was a much needed step at that time.
Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan: One of the largest education programs in the world. The program is a product of some will power by this statesman.
Delhi Metro: It was his government that envisioned and laid the first physical line of Delhi Metro which today is one of the world's best metro systems. It was the sheer determination of the man to improve infrastructure for common man that gave birth to this robust metro that still is the lifeline of Delhi.
Thats why we are proud of him and we will always be proud of..
