Metformin is not FDA approved for anti aging. @geetasnani you are misleading people with this post. The FDA approved for clinical trials of metformin for this indication.

Currently, Metformin is only FDA approved for type 2 diabetes, Polycystic Ovary Syndrome, and Myoclonus Epilepsy. There is not a recognized oxygen increase from Metformin, although the exact mechanism behind its effects is not completely understood at this time.
Metformin is a Biguanide medication that does decrease the livers production of glucose, decreases the intestines absorption of glucose, and increases the effectiveness of insulin to the rest of the body.
