#Intro
Hey guys, my name is Brayan Byrdsong. I would like to say thanks for accepting my account!
My dream is to own a game studio. I have always loved programming, and I'm addicted to the fast pace Javascript environment. I have 2 years of professional experience and hate working. Personally, I feel like I'm working on someone else's dream. So I've decided to dedicate my free time to starting my own dream!
#Highscool
In Highscool I used to love coding, so much so that I used to only bring my laptop to school. I remember this time as the mecca of my learning. I would learn how to do something like for-loops and create a whole project around it. I would stay up 24 hours cranking out projects that for the most part were abandoned. Every time I go through my old projects I always admire the concepts and intricate details I would put into planning.
I eventually dropped out to pursue my dream of coding. I never finished a project, but I also never had any idea how much work goes into a AAA title. Even indie games are inspiring in the amount of hours required. But I always felt like I was getting closer. At this time in my life I wanted nothing more than to get a coding job and start climbing the latter. Somehow, I did.
#Career
ZeeZor was the first company I worked for. It was a startup that took salon data and made it real-time. I showed them some of my code, at the time I was learning concepts like interfaces and threads in Java. They had some other kids work for them before so they were mostly looking for drive. They used the newest Javascript technologies with a c# backend. I didn't know any of those languages, but over time I learned so much so fast. A year of walking angular(2+) from beta to release and all the headaches that went with it. I also worked on projects, but with the fast pace learning I would overplan and simply kill the projects due to complexity. How do you eat an elephant? 1 byte at a time.
I eventually learned every single aspect of creating a website. The frontend, backened, database, hosting, domains, deployment, you name it. I have always been creative, and the excitement I get from people when they see my projects is the joy I live for. It's time for me to make working on a single project consistently a habit. As soon as I found Steemit, I knew I would have a platform and a reason to continue working. The goal is to document my journey creating games and eventually a game studio.
#Future
So what can I expect your next post to be like?
You can expect progress on my newest project! It's project name is #cryptofiends. It's a game inspired by other crypto-games, where you have a large pool of unique tokens. If you own a "token" or fiend in this game, then you are the only person who owns that card. I'll talk about how this works and isn't totally crazy next post.
Thanks everyone.
