Bad bacteria and mold

I pulled the IMO collection box this morning and it confirmed my suspicions of bad microbes back here presumably from too compact of soil and record year for low temperatures and rain in this Las Vegas desert.

There is a crap load of Aspergillus and plenty of pink bacteria to go with it. This is not good.

I consider this a successful collection now that I better understand what is going on back here. If time and money allows for it I will start to re-inoculate the soil with the bokashi I am making and rootwise soil microbes. Certaintly the weather will allow for the soil to dry up considerably.

I also collected the microbes for the last batch of LAB from the same area of the yard. Explaining why we had pink bacteria and Aspergillus in the last collection.

Fun times.

I failed to collect beneficial microbes but learned something very important about the condition of the soil back here and will allow for more effective remediation of the problem.

Doing too much too fast with no real focus ultimately is what happened back here. Which is why I'm really excited about starting over with incorporating bokashi and starting a worm farm with the process of organic farming.
