Partnership is an effort to bolster the gaming creator economy in India and drive Web3 gaming proliferation and its adoption in the country’s gaming industry.
In a bid to tap the massive interest in NFTs and gaming, Rooter, a video game streaming and eSports platform based out of India, has announced its partnership with the India arm of Yield Guild Games (YGG), IndiGG. The partnership will focus on launching a blockchain game streaming program, “Rooter x IndiGG- Creator Program”. The first cohort will start on April 10, where 1000 Web3 gaming creators will get a chance to win cash prizes from a pool of $1 million.
The organisation announced in a release that IndiGG is a subDAO of YGG and backed by the Web3 giant Polygon. It aims to create an ecosystem for Web3 gaming to flourish in India. The country’s gaming market is seeing a once-in-a-generation inflection point in terms of sophistication, scale, growth, and propensity to pay, with a huge base of over 400mn gamers, making it one of the largest markets in the world.
Speaking on the partnership, Dipesh Agarwal, co-founder and COO of Rooter said, “We are excited to partner with IndiGG, who are driving the adoption of Web3 gaming in India by onboarding blockchain gaming creators. Through this association, we will give their gamers access to our Rooter.gg x IndiGG — Creator Program featuring workshops and mentorship, and help them monetise their content. The partnership will further enable us to proliferate Web3 gaming and be at the forefront of Blockchain game streaming in the Indian gaming industry.”
Further commenting on the collaboration, Abhishek Anand, Business Head of IndiGG said, “India is a gaming powerhouse with more than 400mn gamers, which makes it a highly lucrative market for western game studios to find hyperlocal partners to spearhead its distribution in the subcontinent. The generous reward pool offered by Rooter will play an instrumental role to empower the IndiGG community to become a juggernaut in growing the Web3 gaming ecosystem through live streaming and creation of education-based content.”

IndiGG has successfully secured $6m in funding from an incredible set of Investors.
The seed round saw participation from Sequoia Capital India, Lightspeed Venture Partners, Variant Fund, Play Ventures Dune Ventures,Jump Capital, Griffin Gaming Partners, Transcend Fund, Animoca Brands, Scopely, Backed and Sfermion, IVC, Emfarsis and more.
Angels in the round included Reddit Co-founder — Alexis Ohanian, Alan Howard — Co-founder of Brevan Howard Asset Management and executives from the Indian gaming and entertainment industry, including Mobile Premier League (MPL),Hungama, Nazara, WinZo and Hindustan Talkies.
IndiGG had earlier raised $1mn in its pre-seed led by YGG.
The team is amped and ready to crank out exciting community events for our community and scholars.
The raise will help in onboarding Indian gamers into the evolving world of web3 gaming. Educating the community on the benefits of play-to-earn and web3 is a primary objective of ours on the road to cementing IndiGG as the biggest gaming guild in India. We’ll also be aggressively adding to our team to accelerate the play to earn movement in India.
IndiGG will soon support NFT assets for Axie infinity, Pegaxy, Fancy Birds, Nyan Heroes, Nitro League and more. Scholarships are awarded to community members who’ve shown dedication to the guild and potential to excel in a certain game. Landing a scholarship allows the member to rent the NFT, allowing them to start playing without having to buy the NFTs.
Having the support of YGG is critical as it has made us adopt the best practices of running a guild and learning from their experiences, we’ll be able to achieve our mission of bringing web3 gaming to India much faster.

House Of Gaming Partners with IndiGG To Host Web3 Gaming Tournaments In India.
IndiGG, a Sub-DAO of Yield Guild Games (YGG) is announcing its partnership today with House of Gaming, a new-age tech company known for its competitive esports platform IGL — Indian Gaming League, for introducing India’s biggest offline and online web 3 gaming tournaments.
With this collaboration, we will now work closely with the House of Gaming enterprise aiming to empower the opportunities that Web3 gaming ecosystem will present in India and around the world. Through this partnership various innovative Esports projects ranging from Game Gods (a social media platform meant to bring together gamers and share their experiences) to Hefty Games (formed to develop digital game assets, which include a wide range of games in a variety of genres), and IGL will not just unleash new games that will run on blockchain but will also create new opportunities for legions of creators and gamers in the coming years.
The IGL — Indian Gaming League will facilitate IndiGG with large-scale tournaments, leagues, and other forms of esports events both online and offline. Through IGL, IndiGG intends to bring several partnered web3 games into the Indian gaming ecosystem that will encompass gaming tournaments as well as the traditional gaming market.
