THE TWILIGHT ended quickly at Ulee Lheue Beach, Meuraksa, Banda Aceh. Beach exposed to the earthquake and tsunami on December 26, 2004 ago, has now turned into more beautiful, graceful, and full of charm like a beautiful virgin who is smart to dress up. Nothing wrong if Ulee Lheue Beach became one of the tourist destinations in Banda Aceh, a city located in the western tip of Indonesia.

The wind blows a little faster at Ulee Lheue in mid-January 2018. The sun begins to lose its ferocity, as more and more visitors on Ulee Lheue Beach. Slowly, the sunlight dims and changes with the reddish rays on the western horizon.

I came with two friends of Steemians, namely @muammar and @emnajourney to watch the sunset at Ulee Lheue. I've been to Ulee Lheue before, but not when dusk started to fall. For the sake of seeing a reddish—red twilight in elegance—we sacrificed rest periods.

Just arrived in Banda Aceh after a tiring journey from Lhokseumawe, passing through the sharp Seulawah climb, I wanted to capture the drowning sunsets in Ulee Lheue, and to share with my Steemian friends who had never been there. For Steemian in Banda Aceh, perhaps Ulee Lheue is an object that is no longer interesting.

But that's a wrong assumption. A thousand times to dusk at Ulee Lheue, we can find two thousand different atmosphere. Small family who invites his son to see sunset, people fishing from the bridge or on the edge of kuala, people who enjoy roasted corn while waiting for dusk down. The frenzy at Ulee Lheue is always different every evening. If you do not believe it, please see the proof yourself.

Standing on the edge of the bridge, I watched some teenage girls take pictures with a Ulee Lheue twilight setting that was not yet fully flushed. They smiled happily, showing off a row of clean white teeth, alternating styles and backgrounds. Sometimes, they turn the body 380 degrees to get a completely different view. Either their photos are interesting or not, but their style is really alluring.

In another corner, from the top of the yellow bridge, people lined up fishing with a view to the end of the horizon. They focus more on the fishing pole than the reddish sunset. However, there are also some people who enjoy the twilight while continuing to move the fishing pole so that the bait in the water continues to move tempting big fish devour it. There are some that are _strike_, and a small fish is moving at the end of the hook. About 20 minutes I watched the scene, there was not a big fish they got.

On the edge of estuary, an angler sat by himself, waiting for the fish to land on the end of his hook. He looked impatient even though no one had been interested. Perhaps, the man did not really care about the fish. He just wanted to enjoy the evening at Ulee Lheue, under the bridge, without anyone bothering him. So when there was a fishing boat passing by and causing waves around him, the man seemed annoyed. Until the little ripples disappeared, he refocused on his fishing pole.

The sky that shines reddish slowly darkens as dusk begins to fall completely. Some people leave, leaving Ulee Lheue who is now increasingly diligent dress up to beautify themselves. Children's playground is getting more and more so that the beach becomes more child-friendly. Merchants peddle different types of merchandise, from food, drink, to clothing. In some corners provides a beautiful point for taking pictures together, just leaving a trail on Ulee Lheue Beach at dusk. Unfortunately, I do not like souvenirs typical of Ulee Lheue Beach as we easily find in other coastal tourism destinations in various regions in Indonesia and the world.

Perhaps this is a record for the local community to take advantage of every opportunity available to increase income while promoting the beauty of Ulee Lheue's marine tourism.

Twilight has gone from Ulee Lheue, but the memories behind the beauty remain firmly attached.[]

Sepotong Senja di Ulee Lheue

SENJA berakhir dengan cepat di Pantai Ulee Lheue, Meuraksa, Banda Aceh. Pantai yang terpapar bencana gempa dan tsunami pada 26 Desember 2004 silam, kini sudah berubah menjadi lebih indah, anggun, dan penuh pesona laksana seorang dara cantik yang pintar berdandan. Tidak salah jika Pantai Ulee Lheue menjadi salah satu destinasi wisata di Banda Aceh, kota yang terletak ujung barat di wilayah Indonesia.

Angin berembus sedikit lebih kencang di Ulee Lheue pada pertengahan Januari 2018. Sinar matahari mulai kehilangan kegarangannya, seiring dengan semakin banyak pengunjung di Pantai Ulee Lheue. Perlahan, cahaya matahari meredup dan berganti dengan sinar kemerahan di ufuk barat.

Saya datang bersama dua sahabat Steemians, yakni @muammar dan @emnajourney untuk menyaksikan sunset di Ulee Lheue. Saya pernah berkunjung ke Ulee Lheue sebelumnya, tetapi tidak ketika senja mulai turun. Demi menyaksikan sepotong senja yang kemerahan—merah dalam keanggunan—kami mengorbankan masa istirahat.

Baru tiba di Banda Aceh setelah melalui perjalanan darat yang melelahkan dari Lhokseumawe, dengan melewati tanjakan Seulawah yang tajam, saya ingin mengabadikan senja tenggelam di Ulee Lheue, dan membagikan dengan sahabat Steemian yang belum pernah ke sana. Bagi Steemian di Banda Aceh, barangkali Ulee Lheue adalah objek yang sudah tidak menarik lagi.

Tapi itu anggapan salah. Seribu kali menjemput senja di Ulee Lheue, kita bisa menemukan dua ribu suasana yang berbeda. Keluarga kecil yang mengajak anaknya melihat sunset, orang memancing dari atas jembatan atau di pinggir kuala, orang yang menikmati jagung bakar sambil menunggu senja turun. Hiruk-pikuk di Ulee Lheue selalu berbeda di setiap senja. Kalau tidak percaya, silakan buktikan sendiri.

Berdiri di pinggir jembatan, saya menyaksikan beberapa gadis remaja berfoto dengan latar senja Ulee Lheue yang belum sepenuhnya memerah. Mereka tersenyum bahagia, memamerkan deretan gigi yang putih bersih, dengan berganti-ganti gaya serta latar belakang. Terkadang, mereka memutar tubuh 380 derajat untuk mendapatkan view yang benar-benar berbeda. Entah foto mereka menarik atau tidak, tetapi gaya mereka sungguh memikat.

Di sudut lain, dari atas jembatan kuning, orang berderet memancing dengan pandangan ke ujung cakrawala. Mereka lebih fokus pada gagang pancing dibandingkan dengan sunset yang bersinar kemerahan. Namun, ada juga beberapa orang yang menikmati senja sambil terus menggerakkan gagang pancing agar umpan di dalam air terus bergerak menggoda ikan besar melahapnya. Ada beberapa yang strike, dan seekor ikan kecil bergerak-gerak di ujung kail. Sekitar 20 menit saya menyaksikan pemandangan itu, tidak ada seekor ikan besar pun yang mereka dapat.

Di pinggir kuala, seorang pemancing duduk menyendiri, menunggu ikan hinggap di ujung kailnya. Dia tampak sabar menanti meski belum terlihat ada seekor yang tertarik. Barangkali, lelaki itu tidak terlalu peduli pada ikannya. Dia hanya ingin menikmati senja di Ulee Lheue, di bawah jembatan, tanpa seorang pun yang menganggunya. Maka ketika ada perahu nelayan yang lewat dan menimbulkan gelombang di sekitarnya, lelaki itu tampak terganggu. Sampai riak-riak kecil itu menghilang, ia kembali fokus pada gagang pancingnya.

Langit yang bersinar kemerahan perlahan berganti gelap ketika senja mulai turun sepenuhnya. Beberapa orang beranjak pergi, meninggalkan Ulee Lheue yang kini kian rajin berdandan untuk mempercantik diri. Tempat bermain anak semakin banyak sehingga pantai itu menjadi lebih ramah terhadap anak. Para pedagang menjajakan berbagai jenis dagangan, mulai dari makanan, minuman, sampai pakaian.

Di beberapa sudut menyediakan titik yang indah untuk berfoto bersama, sekadar meninggalkan jejak di Pantai Ulee Lheue di waktu senja. Sayangnya, saya tidak menemukai souvenir khas Pantai Ulee Lheue seperti yang mudah kita temukan di destinasi wisata pantai lainnya di berbaga daerah di Indonesia dan dunia.

Barangkali ini menjadi catatan bagi masyarakat setempat agar memanfaatkan setiap peluang yang ada untuk menambah penghasilan sekaligus mempromosikan keindahan wisata bahari Ulee Lheue.

Senja sudah pergi dari Ulee Lheue, tapi kenangan di balik keindahanya tetap melekat kuat dengan berbagai keindahan dan kekurangan yang ada, seperti kenangan tragis tentang gempa dan tsunami yang pernah melanda.[]
