TAKENGON, Central Aceh Regency, now does not only enjoy the beauty of nature with the vast expanse of Lake Laut Tawar, as well as the pleasure of Arabica coffee, or cold temperatures to below 16 degrees Celsius.

But we can test our adrenaline by embracing the Peusangan River that divides Aceh and its upstream is in the Central Aceh District. Rafting tours or Gayo Rafting have just opened and many sports lovers are interested in this challenge.

Namun kita bisa menguji adrenalin kita dengan menalukan Sungai Peusangan yang membelah Aceh dan hulunya ada di Kabupaten Aceh Tengah tersebut. Wahana olahraga wisata arung jeram atau Gayo Rafting baru saja dibuka dan banyak diminati para pecinta olahraga tantangan ini.

Olahraga uji nyali ini dikelola oleh Koperasi Jasa Wisata Alam Gayo bekerjasama dengan Federasi Arung Jeram Indonesia (FAJI) Aceh Tengah di sungai Peusangan. Ada dua tantangan yang bisa dinikmati sensasinya. Yakni, pertama untuk Fun Rafting/Arung Jeram Keluarga.

This family rafting is set at a cost of Rp 60 thousand per person, a minimum of 4 people per boat.

This white water rafting is also an educational tour because during the rafting you can watch the activities of fishers, rice fields, coffee plantations, crops, waterwheels and there is a safe location for bathing in the river. Besides that, you can also watch animals of various types of birds, monitor lizards, horses, buffaloes, cows, and others.

Titik awalnya di Jembatan Lukup Badak, Kecamatan Pegasing hingga titik finish di Jembatan Sanehen. Ketua FAJI Aceh Tengah, Khalisuddin mengatakan untuk arung jeram keluarga ini, grade sungai yang dilalui antara antara 1 dan 2 sejauh 4,5 Km dengan waktu tempuh 30-45 menit.

Setiap peserta yang melakukannya dilengkapi perahu karet berkapasitas 6 orang yang dilengkapi safety berupa life jacket, Helm dan dry bag serta dipandu aAtlit-atlit berprestasi (putra/putri). Arung jeram keluarga ini dipatok biaya Rp 60 ribu perorang, minimal 4 orang per perahu.

Arung jeram ini sekaligus wisata edukasi karena saat pengarungan dapat menyaksikan aktivitas pencari ikan, persawahan, kebun kopi, palawija, kincir air dan ada lokasi aman untuk mandi mengapung di sungai. Selain itu juga dapat menyaksikan satwa berbagai jenis burung, biawak, kuda, kerbau, sapi, dan lain-lain.

Kedua, Moderate Trip. Untuk yang ini menempuh jarak 3,7 kilometer dengan titik awal di di Paya Nahu hingga finish di Jembatan Lukup Badak. Untuk yang kedua ini arus sungai dengan grade 1 hingga 3+, melintasi bangunan bersejarah Roda Pendere milik hartawan Aman Kuba.

Pada grade sungai mulai deras hingga grade 3+ perahu bisa terombang-ambing yang memacu adrenalin yang berakhir di jeram yang dinamakan warga Brawang Mejin. Di kawasan ini, petugas rescue dan fotografer telah siap menunggu anda.

Untuk Moderate Trip ini biaya dipatok Rp100 Ribu perorang, minimal 3 orang per perahu. Bagaimana, apa anda ingin merasakan sensasinya?
