MeetCommunity #2: Hello #indonesia community! We are #polish community. We would like to know more about you!

in indonesia •  6 years ago  (edited)

Introduction

Some time ago I wanted to find out what are the non-English language communities on Steem. And I created this post. It turned out that the #indonesia community is the second largest non-English community on Steem (in terms of number of posts added)! I thought that it's time to get to know each other better :) Especially that this year SteemFest is taking place in Poland, so maybe some people would like to ask questions to Polish people. This post will be entirely written in English so that both sides can understand it :)

This article will be divided into two parts:

  • the first with our questions to #indonesia community
  • the second with our answers to these questions.

Before we get to the main part, let's look at some statistics (from 01.01.2018 to 31.08.2018).

Our answers

1: How would you describe the #polish community in a few sentences?

The #polish community may not be too big, but it is well organized. Our main channel of communication is https://steem.chat/channel/polish. Every month we have statistics that present the current state of the community: https://steemit.com/polish/@jacekw/przekroj-spolecznosci-polish-sierpien-2018.

2: Which #polish users are most recognized on Steem?

3: What Steem projects have been created by people from your community?

4: What witnesses do you have?

5: Does the #polish community stick together or is it divided into many groups?

Despite the fact that we often argue, create different subgroups and have some dramas, as a community we rather stick together.

6: What principles / conventions / initiative have you developed?

We also have many curation initiatives:

  • @diosbot - bot that upvotes good articles
  • WISE - system that delegates vote of one user to other users (experts)
  • #perpetuummobile - curation system to support authors writing in some popular #polish tags

7: What are the biggest problems of the #polish community?

  • decline in activity in recent months
  • there are smaller and larger dramas ;)
  • people are discouraged by falling rewards

8: Pierogi!

Hi jacekw. I am an Indonesian steemian. Thanks @paulag for informing me about this awesome informative post.

Let me go to the question part and give my answer.

  1. #indonesia community, in my words is an active community. But not as well-organized as #polish community as described in the article, or maybe that's what I know of. What #polish community has been doing is a great initiative, I think. And I am interested to maybe do the same in the future or support those who run same initiative.
  2. maybe they are levycore, aiqabrago, (since tjey are the well known curators for tag #indonesia. And maybe puncakbukit (a witness from Indonesia).
  3. I dont really have knowledge about this.
  4. puncakbukit, thekitchenfairy, vesteem (cancelled). That's all I know.
  5. We have many groups. There are sevenfingers, garudakita, ksi, nsc, arteem. And maybe more.
  6. I have not recognized such activity in #imdonesia community so far.
  7. I might say that we are facing same problems. Lol.
  8. I love this question. Maybe Nasi Padang (Padang style rice).

This is a great post. Makes me think.

Thanks.

thanks for mentioning me <3

Thanks for all the answers, I really apreciate it!

There are sevenfingers, garudakita, ksi, nsc, arteem. And maybe more.

Do these groups concern any specific topics or were they created for other reasons?

They were created for one same purpose in general: supporting Indonesian steemians who post good articles, the difference are the methods they each have and also the power. The firts three are "major players", while the last one was established 5 weeks ago (arTeem). I and @rayfa are the initiators of Inisiatif arTeem, with support from steemcommunity witness ( @paulag and @abh12345 ). @paulag has done much for Indonesia community, and I said that not because she and her partner, Asher, are suporting Inisiatif arTeem, they have done lots of great works on Steem Blockchain especially @paulag for #indonesia community.

thanks fo mentoring too

Hi @jacekw. My name @khaimi and I will try to respond your question here even i am still redfish.

  1. Indonesia is a country that has various ethnicities and different languages. The Indonesian community is a community that has high loyalty and creativity, but the providers of initiatives in Indonesia are still lacking. A large community must be balanced with the initiative manager, right ? This is to keep community not out of track, or bored because there is no realization for reward.

  2. The most famous user at the moment I know is levycore, aiqabrago, mariska.lubis, bahagia-arbi and eu-id. This amount is very little compared to your data, iNdonesia is in second place in author.

  3. As I have said, that community strengthening has gone well in Indonesia, from large communities such as the Indonesian Steemit Community or small communities like the @arteem that carrie out redfish under 500 SP.

Large projects have not had an impact on their income because they ultimately made steemit a mere channel of talent and interest. While steemit is not only limited to social media, right ?

  1. As I know, Indonesia has several witnesses. like puncakbukit and vasteem. But again and again, it's not comparable to the amount of steemian in Indonesia.

  2. I think, Because the country of Indonesia is a vast and big country, the tendency to be divided still exists, as far as I know, only the #indonesia tags unite them and are easily curated by levycore, aiqabrago etc.

  3. Yes, as I say it, Initiative is lacking in Indonesia, but creativity remains the mainstay of posts. During this time various initiatives also did not have a big influence. eu-id and arteem are two intense communities that teach lessons about steemian indonesia. And I am very proud to @paulag for making initiative league.

  4. The biggest problem is that because Indonesia lacks witnesses, Indonesia lacks a curator. For me, the world's great curators should pay attention to training additional witnesses and curators in Indonesia. it's must to be, why ? because contributors in Indonesia are very much for steemit.

  5. The most popular foods are Nasi padang and Bakso

Additional question:

So easy. Indonesia is a National Country, Aceh is a province within Indonesia. The tag is only to differentiate the regions, but Indonesia remains united in these differences, this has been proven in seizing the independence of this country in 1945.

This is my anwers, maybe wrong maybe not complite, as way as I can to explain. God bless you.

Witnesses from Indonesia are @thekitchenfairy and @puncakbukit.

There are two more, but the servers are inactive@akmalz and @vesteem.

Everyone IS a curator. Whoever gives vote, regarless upvote, downvote, leaves comments, appreciates others, they are curators :) So there are a LOT of curators from Indonesia.

There are actually many initiatives. @rayfa and others would offer contests. I myself had #ramadan-tkf throughout Ramadhan, #lagu-tkf giving out 10 SBD for Indonesian Independence Day, and ongoing #nusantara where I curate daily. We just have to browse around and we will find those awesome Indonesians who care, curate, help and throw many initiatives :)

I'm sorry for my mistake @thekitchenfairy. But maybe sound positive to us, me and more steemian from lovely indonesia maybe dont know much who else the witness in indonesia. I am agree everyone is curator. But maybe we have different opinion here. For me everyone is curator as long as he dont break a rules. For me the curator is the person in charge of giving a good, helpful and rewarding curation. Curators are positive. That is why there must be curated (its I means of being directed, fostered and developed), whereas for downvoters, it is certainly not feasible to curate, from the beginning they agreed to the steemit system and contract and if they committed a violation, the social sanctions they received were not curated. this is what I understand. maybe wrong please understand because I am new.

Hi @jacekw, here my answers :

  1. Steemit users in Indonesia are many but not well organized like the #polish community

  2. There are lot of indonesian steemian are most recognized on steem :
    @levycore : #indonesian kurator, KSI leader
    @aiqabrago, @kemal13, @ayijufridar, @mariska.lubis : KSI and sndbox member
    @dodybireuen, @binjeeclick : NSC members
    @anazs, @vannour, @steemvest17 : Atjeh Steemit Community
    @yandot, @bahagia-arbi : eSteem kurators
    @arie.steem : sevenfingers member

  3. I don't know

  4. There have been witnesses from Indonesia such as @vesteem and @akmalz, but it stopped when steem price fall. As far as I know, now there are only two witnesses from Indonesia, @puncakbukit and @thekitchenfairy

  5. Communities in Indonesia are not stick together but divided into several communities such as KSI, NSC, BSC, Atjeh Steemit Community, sevenfingers and others

  6. As far as I know, there are some initiatives that have been developed to support the Indonesian community such as nscgift, garudakita, sevenfingers, arteem

  7. Big problems in the Indonesian community seem to be the same as those faced by other communities, unfair rewards, many good articles that have not received proper curation so that some finally leave the board

  8. The most popular Indonesian dish is RENDANG

Aceh is one of the provinces in Indonesia. Aceh was the gateway to steemit's entry into Indonesia at the end of 2016. Many high-reputation steemians came from Aceh

thanks for tagging me! <3

As for @akmalz, I believe it wasnt due to low Steem value, but he missed his first initial block, followed with second, more likely incomplete/out dated set up. I have offered my help via @alhidayat a couple of months ago, should akmalz need help in setting up since many of the tutorials on Steemit are not always easy to follow.

I also have initiatives such as #ramadan-tkf, #lagu-tkf, AND #nusantara, where I go around for curating Indonesians or whoever use those tags but Ramadan was only during Ramadhan, Lagu was for Indonesia Independence Day, while Nusantara is ongoing always :)

I didnt know you are a witness from this region @thekitchenfairy. Fantastic.

Hi @thekitchenfairy.. thanks for the feedback :)
I don't know if @akmalz missed his initial block, but @vesteem has problem with the server cost.. hope you can running the witness succesfully.. regards

Pleasure <3

May i know, what you think, the most popular dish from Indonesia?

May i know, what you
Think, the most popular dish
From Indonesia?

                 - rayfa

I'm a bot. I detect haiku.

Definitely RENDANG, even CNN says so hahaha

Hidup Rendang, yum!!!

(one of the reasons my husband asked me to be his wife was thanks to Rendang :P he loves my cooking :D)

Hahahaha... the memory of Rendang, maybe this can be considered to be one of the menus in Steemfest3, representing the Indonesian community

I dont think the post asked about Aceh and Indonesia in geographical or geopolitical term, but more of two steem communities. I missed this question, actually. 😀

Thanks, @rayfa.

I think that can answer why #indonesia and #aceh form a slice in the graph above, there is no political issue here

Oh okay. My bad.

First of all thank to @aneukpineung78 who has provide the link of this post.
Hi @jacekw thank you to talk about us. it's an honour.

How would you describe the #indonesia community in a few sentences?

Indonesia community is a hard worker community and active, we don't care about the Cryptocurrency market like today. we just want to always make content. i know this is not always good idea but i think this is not bad too.

Which #indonesia users are most recognized on Steem?

for me, there are @levycore and @aiqabrago as Indonesia curator. There @vannour @arie.steem @aneukpineung78 @rayfa @anggreklestari @bahagia-arbi @yandot @jubagarang and many more

What Steem projects have been created by people from your community?

have no idea about this one

What witnesses do you have?

what i know is @puncakbukit

Does the #indonesia community stick together or is it divided into many groups?

there are couple group of us like @sevenfingers, @arteem @ksi @nsc @garudakita @efa

What initiatives / principles / conventions have you developed?

have no idea about this

What are the biggest problems of the#indonesia community?

what i have to say? may be we are a good content creator but not good at project creator. I'm so sorry if i was wrong about this. i just something in my opinion.

What is the most popular Indonesian dish? :)
you have to try Aceh's Noodle.

Extra questions:
a. How would you describe the difference between #indonesia and #aceh to someone from the other end of the world?

this is a difficult question to answer. What i know, there is a long story behind those two tags. But i can explain clearly. i will say Indonesia is country and aceh is a Province of Indonesia. That's all.

for extra answer even you don't ask it, if you wabt to know who is non-Indonesian user who is well known in steemit by Indonesian user?

i will surely say it's @paulag. thank you paulag

Thank you for all the answers!

for extra answer even you don't ask it, if you wabt to know who is non-Indonesian user who is well known in steemit by Indonesian user?

I knew the answer to this question: D

Hm, I would really love to read something :/. Maybe not the timezone or too little interest in and knowledge of English articles..?

I'm also surprised that there are still no comments. I suspect that I added at the wrong moment, and then the post quickly got lost among others. Next time I will pay more attention to timing.
Tomorrow I will try to promote this post (with help of some people) and write on their discord channel :)

I have just resteemed and dropped a link into the community channel, I would say you will get some replies tomorrow :-)

hi @jacekw, as I can see from your post mentioning that the #indonesia community is the second largest on steemit, I would say something about that first before I response all of those questions. First of all what you need to know. #indonesia and #aceh are from the same country, Aceh is the province of Indonesia.

  1. How would you describe the #indonesia community in a few sentences?
#indonesia is a steemit community across Indonesian people, #indonesia has 2 community curator @levycore and @aiqabrago and has two witnesses @pincakbukit and @thekitchenfairy

  2. Which #indonesia users are most recognized on Steem?
the most recognize people in #indonesia are @levycore and @aiqabrago

  3. What Steem projects have been created by people from your community?
Actually there are few things that #indonesia has been doing for few time, such as steemit community meet up for every chapter, in the whole Aceh and Indonesia. For your understanding, aceh has steemit chapter in every districs, so far as I knew it has 6 KSI (Komunitas Steemit Indonesia= Indonesian Steemit Community). those 2 only in Aceh, and the other 2 are in Bandung and Jakarta.

  4. What witnesses do you have?
    As I have mentioned above

  5. Does the #indonesia community stick together or is it divided into many groups?. there are many group in Indonesia, but we stick together and support each other as much as we can. those group of Indonesian user who the tags : #indonesia, #aceh, but some of them also have their own specific tags to use. It is not to mention @esteem community in Indonesia that they have developed esteem university

  6. What initiatives / principles / conventions have you developed?
The one I have been involving so far is @arteem community

  7. What are the biggest problems of the #indonesia community?
The biggest problem in #indonesia is there is no whales in Indonesia, the two curators is supported by @curie

  8. What is the most popular Indonesian dish? :)
    Nasi (rice) and Rendang

Extra questions:
a. How would you describe the difference between #indonesia and #aceh to someone from the other end of the world?

The only different between #indonesia and #aceh is the community base, #indonesia take larger portion of the Indonesia users and #aceh is smaller part of Indonesia Province, which is designed only for the user in Aceh

And additional information: The first place steemit grow in Indonesia is in Aceh province. Then the community in Aceh start to promote it to the other part of Indonesia.

this is only for information supplement, since I have since many answer to your question

best regard

Thank you for tagging me 😊

Wonderful very helpful tags you told to build community thanks @princeuk12

@cicisaja, @el-nailul, will you respond to this post? Oh, and @gibic?
