Champions League Results & Schedule: Mignolet & Alexander-Arnold Fabulous, Liverpool 3 Points

Goalkeeper Simon Mignolet and youngster Trent Alexander-Arnold make important notes of victory for Liverpool over host Hoffenheim in the first leg of the Champions League play-offs.

In the match which took place at Hoffenheim, the Wirsol Rhein-Neckar Arena in Sinsheim, Germany, Liverpool won 2-1 to open the field road to advance to the European Champions League group stage when they host Hoffenheim next week.

The visitors doubled the lead in the 74th minute through the action of James Milner who unleashed a kick from a narrow sutu from the right side of the penalty box host. The ball had touched the Hoffenheim defender's leg Havard Nordtveit and drifted through the top left corner of Baumann's goal.

Hoffenheim could only give a reply a goal 4 minutes from the end after a hard kick Mark Uth after escaping the offside trap when receiving Nordtveit long-range bait.
