Jika ada satu moment yang sangat dinanti oleh masyarakat Indonesia itulah moment 17 Agustus yang merupakan hari kemerdekaan bangsa Indonesia.
Tak terasa tahun ini sudah 72 tahun Indonesia merdeka. Untuk merayakannya biasanya tiap desa mengadakan lomba17 Agustusan. Seperti lomba panjat pinang, lomba makan kerupuk, lomba tiup balon.
Masyarakat yang biasanya sibuk dengan kesibukan masing-masing, saat 17 Agustus biasanya akan ikut meramaikan setiap acara yang ada di desa masing-masing.
Semangat gotong royong terlihat saat panitia dibantu warga lainnya bahu membahu mempersiapkan pernak-pernik acara, mulai menaruk hadiah di pohon pinang, memastikan bebek untuk acara lomba tangkap bebek.
