Danau Laut Tawar is a lake and tourist area located in Gayo Highlands, Central Aceh district, Aceh. West side of this lake there is a regency city that is TAKENGON city, which is also the capital of Regency of Central Aceh. The Gayo people call this lake is called Laut Laut Tawar . The total area is approximately 5,472 hectares with a length of 17 km and a width of 3,219 km. The water volume is approximately 2,537,483,884 m³ (2.5 trillion liters).
