August 17 is Indonesia's independence day. Namely a country known as the country of a thousand islands. I as the Indonesian people really appreciate the struggle of the hero earlier. They risked their lives for the sake of mebela nation homeland and his family.
Now we just continue and enjoy the results of their struggle. And some of us are not sensitive to it. Although we are not against the invaders like the heroes of the past, but we also struggled to advance the nation and the homeland of Indonesia. To commemorate the independence day usually begins with a flag ceremony and is continued with a variety of unique races from each village. There is a long race of areca nut, sack race, fishing bottle, aubergine ball, spoon run, tug of war and various other competitions.
On this occasion I would like to share the activities commemorating the independence day at my place of residence.
Eating crackers contest followed by grandmother.

Race areca nut is the participants consist of teams with a maximum members is 9. Participants are required to take a gift dugantung on the betel tree.
Mine tug contest is a race that followed the team with a maximum members is 12. Participants are asked to pull together the ropes until the opponent passes a predetermined line
Sack contest is the participants are asked to run using sack until finish.

That's some race to welcome Indonesia's independence day. I love my country. I love where I live and I love my homeland.
