Dear Stemians. As written on #introduceyourself, on weekends my activity is farming coffee.
So in this post and a few posts ahead I will try to share a little of my research about coffee in general that I have found over the last two years.
In general I do in my work as a farmer from cultivation-care-harvest-post-harvest.
Today, coffee drinking has become a positive trend that is growing in various layers of the world community.

Especially in Indonesia, coffee is a daily drink that is complementary to start a daily activity or accompany a break in the evening and evening after struggling with work.
As we know with the type of coffee in general is Arabica, Robusta, Excelsa and Liberika but the discussion in my articles will mostly discuss arabica and maybe a little about robusta. This is due to the more circulating coffee in the market there are two types that I mentioned last.
Arabica and Robusta in Indonesia especially in the Gayo Region grow side by side, although the current market demand is more in the arabica type but robusta enthusiasts are also not reduced in number.

Arabica, as written in the research books of agricultural experts should be planted at an altitude of at least 1000 meters above sea level while robusta is advised to be cultivated at an altitude of 600-900. But in the area of Gayo own robusta species are also planted in the same altitude area with arabica.
With regard to the process of good and correct coffee processing I will try to share some of my experience in the post-harvesting process of Gayo Arabica coffee known to the world because of the uniqueness of its flavor and aroma.
The 'general' process of post-harvest coffee is divided into two namely Natural and Washed.
Natural process itself is divided into several types of process again that is Winey-fermentation, Natural non-fermentation, Peeled Raisins and Honey. While the washed process is divided into Semi Washed and Full Washed. The above term may reap the controversy due to the many post-harvest business actors who have their own terms to mention the type of process they use.

Kopi dan Proses Pasca Panen
Para Stemian yang terhormat. Seperti yang tertulis pada #introduceyourself, pada akhir pekan aktifitas saya adalah bertani kopi.
Jadi dalam postingan kali ini dan beberapa postingan ke depan saya akan mencoba sedikit berbagi hasil riset saya tentang kopi secara umum yang telah saya temukan selama dua tahun terakhir.
Secara umum yang saya lakukan dalam pekerjaan saya sebagai petani mulai dari penanaman-perawatan-panen-pasca panen.
Dewasa ini minum kopi telah menjadi trend positif yang berkembang di berbagai lapisan masyarakat dunia. Khususnya di Indonesia, kopi adalah minuman sehari-hari yang menjadi pelengkap untuk memulai aktifitas harian atau menemani waktu istirahat di sore dan malam hari sehabis berkutat dengan pekerjaan.
Seperti kita ketahui bersama jenis kopi secara umum adalah Arabika, Robusta, Excelsa dan Liberika tetapi pembahasan dalam artikel-artikel saya nanti kebanyakan akan membahas arabika dan mungkin sedikit tentang robusta. Hal ini disebabkan kopi yang lebih banyak beredar di pasaran ada kedua jenis yang saya sebutkan terakhir.
Arabika dan Robusta di Indonesia khususnya di Daerah Gayo tumbuh berdampingan, meskipun permintaan pasar saat ini lebih banyak pada jenis arabika tetapi peminat robusta juga tidak berkurang jumlahnya.
Arabika, seperti yang tertulis dalam buku-buku riset para ahli pertanian disarankan ditanam pada ketinggian minimal 1000 meter diatas permukaan laut sedangkan robusta disarankan dibudidayakan pada ketinggian 600-900. Tetapi di daerah Gayo sendiri jenis robusta juga di tanam di daerah berketinggian sama dengan arabika.
Berkenaan dengan proses pengolahan kopi yang baik dan benar akan saya coba untuk membagikan sedikit pengalaman saya dalam melakukan proses pasca-panen kopi Arabika Gayo yang dikenal dunia karena keunikan rasa dan aromanya yang tidak konsisten.
Secara 'umum' proses pasca panen kopi terbagi dua yaitu Natural dan Washed.
Proses natural sendiri terbagi dalam beberapa jenis proses lagi yaitu Winey-fermentasi, Natural non-fermentasi, Kupas Kismis dan Honey. Sedangkan proses washed terbagi menjadi Semi Washed dan Full Washed. Istilah di atas mungkin akan menuai kontroversi disebabkan banyaknya pelaku usaha proses pasca-panen yang memiliki istilah sendiri untuk menyebutkan jenis proses yang mereka pakai.
Oleh sebab itu saran dan kritik serta koreksi yang membangun dari para steemian tentu saja akan saya terima dengan senang hati.
