There are various types of batik scattered in the archipelago. Batik is a painting art using a picture cloth that has a special pattern and way of making it by writing or attaching the night / wax substance to the fabric, followed by processing in a particular way.
Indonesian Batik as a culture has been established by UNESCO as a heritage of humanity entuk oral and nonbendawi culture (Masterpieces of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity) since October 2, 2009.
Batik comes from the Javanese language, which is "amba" meaning "write" and "point" meaning "point", so that when combined more or less meaningful "write the dots."
