Indonesia's First Aircraft in Rehab

PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero) will maintain and paint the Dakota 001 Seulawah aircraft located at Blang Padang Square, Banda Aceh.

General Manager of Garuda Indonesia Branch Office Banda Aceh, Sugiyono admitted willing to rehabilitate the replica of the Acehnese prize airline for Indonesia.

"We will send a review team to the condition of the aircraft and prepare the material in an effort to repair it. For that, we request government support in the form of coordination with related parties including the licensing of our personnel during the survey process, "said Sugiyono.

Mayor of Banda Aceh, Aminullah Usman said it is right in rehab. Given the plane is the largest contribution of the people of Aceh to Indonesia.

"This aircraft became a witness and a perpetrator of history during the struggle for independence first and now become a favorite tourist attraction in Banda Aceh.That's why we thank the Garuda Indonesia, and we are ready to provide the support needed later," said Amin

To boost the tourism sector, Amin also asked Garuda to increase the direct flight route between Banda Aceh and Jakarta (direct flight) without transit in Medan
