Hi, my name is Richard, or Dickie to my friends, which you all now are.

Why am I here?

Despite the deep and meaningful question, I finally want to try and better my situation. Looking around cyberspace, I am just not interested in the whole me, me, me, style of promotion. I just want a place to have a permanent record of my efforts and thoughts on adjusting my life and finances to move to a more independent situation.

Being 48 and living on a low fixed income, brings daily challenges that until a few years ago, started to seem insurmountable. Then with a few false starts along the way, a plan has been cobbled together, and I am going to use this platform to journal this journey.

An audience is not really my motivation, but you are very welcome as a fellow traveller. Having the highs and lows recorded on the blockchain will give me motivation to carry on building an independent income like a steady drip from a tap.

So starting today, I shall record my income and expenses, and current states of investments. Don't expect big numbers for a while, but bit by bit I hope to show a workable plan for anyone to change both their physical and financial lives even with very little in the way of resources.

Please note, as I said I will be using this as a journaling medium, so it will be minimal and pertinent. Having said that I want it to be accessible to all and will expand and explain where needed. I will also be adding thoughts and insights as I go along so hopefully you won't get bored of me too quickly.

Later today, I shall start off with my current state of play, and goals for the upcoming year.

Great to finally get going on something that has been on the back burner for some time now.
