Were halfway into 2021 and there is some stuff in 2022 I could see happening during the 2022 season. First off is start times being same for all East and Central coast road course races at 3:30pm EST, start times being same for all West coast road course races at 7:30pm EST, the Indy 500 has it's own start time at 1:00pm EST and all night races starting at 8.30pm EST.
Here's my suggested 2022 calendar?
April 3rd - Portland (7.30pm EST)
April 10th - Long Beach (7.30pm EST)
April 24th - St Petersburg (3.30pm EST)
May 1st - Barber (3.30pm EST)
May 15th - Indy GP (3.30pm EST)
May 29th - Indianapolis 500 (1.00pm EST)
June 5th - Nashville (3.30pm EST)
June 19th - Mid Ohio (3.30pm EST)
June 26th - Detroit (3.30pm EST)
July 9th - Darlington (8.30pm EST)
July 16th - Richmond (8.30pm EST)
July 30th - Texas (8.30pm EST)
August 6th - Gateway (8.30pm EST)
August 21st - Road America (3.30pm EST)
August 28th - Toronto (3.30pm EST)
Another thing is TV contracts, NBC's contract with Indycar ends after 2021, If NBC renews it's contract it can be long term and have more races on the main NBC. If NBC dose not get the rights I could see CBS having the rights because the have the new Superstars Racing Experience series. ABC has no case because of budget issues and having rights to Formula 1. And I can't see Fox getting it because their main focus is on NASCAR. I could still see NBC keeping the rights for a few more years but who knows.
