YOU MUST TRY THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK AND PLEASE BY NO MEANS DO I GUARENTEE THIS WILL WORK FOR YOU....THIS IS MERELY A SUGGESTION OF HOW TO CONCIEVE, THAT WILL COST 100% LESS OF FERTILITY TREATMENTS....WHAT HAVE YOU GOT TO LOOSE?? READ ON!
****THIS IS MY STORY****
In high school, I was on the depo provera shot for birth control, for 2 1/2 yrs. When I met my husband, we decided that I no longer needed to be on the shot, and in fact wanted to get pregnant. I took orthro-tri-cyclen for 3 months to bring back a regular period... After that was established, we tried to get PG for 4 years... to no avail. I was checked out by my dr. and everything was fine with me... My husband went to an urologist and had his sperm count tested...again everything fine!!!
Eight months later still not pregnant after fertility classes, I was about to give up. Then a friend of mine (with similar fertility problems) wanted to apply for a job at a place that required drug testing... Well at a party she had been a bad girl, and had smoked some pot (bad girl, yes, I know) well a friend of hers said to try NIACIN to clean her system out... she cleaned her system out and ended up pregnant! She confided in me that she thought that it was the niacin that did it. So I went out and bought me a bottle to try it, I got pregnant! My friend wanted to get pregnant I suggested the niacin, she's pregnant!
I started taking the Niacin pills in the regular 50mg pills that were white and powdery. I was taking them every 4-6 hrs. (Approx.) and then I ran out of them, so I bought a different bottle that was the brand name “Nature’s Bounty” they were 250mgs, and they were slow release. They were clear capsules filled with pearly white balls, and I took them every 6-8hrs. Which ended up (roughly) being 3 capsules a day, which is 750mgs.
I took them from the 12th of JUNE, which was the first day of my period to the 22nd of JUNE because that day I started having unusually sore nipples and thought that it could be a sign of pregnancy (my period had only lasted until the 15th). So, I also went in to the hospital and got a blood test on the 10th of July and I was pregnant (HCG 35) and since then from u/s dating I found out that I conceived on the 19th of JUNE!
****MY SUGGESTION****
If you are on your period start taking the pills now... continue to take the pills until the third day after ovulation! If you don't know when your ovulation date is, then continue to take them every day until 15 days after the FIRST day of your period. Make sure you have sex at least once a day on cycle days 10-14. Those are the for-sure-must-have-sex days. Before and after these days is usually not effective.
If you know your ovulation date it is usually good to “dance” the day before, and then three days consecutively after that! You can take the dosages in any quantity you feel comfortable with. IF this doesn't work this month, then use the same template for next month. You need to calculate that you will ovulate a few days earlier because that is what has been happening to the ladies that are on this treatment. If you notice that you are ovulating earlier or later, then adjust!
Remember to quit taking the pills on the third day after ovulation.
This is only an example; you must calculate your own cycle into this equation:
DAY 01: AF, BEGIN TAKING NIACIN
DAY 09: DAY BEFORE OV, DO THE MAMBA
DAY 10: OV, DO THE CHA-CHA
DAY 11: BOOGIE-DOWN!
DAY 12: MORE MAMBA MADNESS
DAY 13: LAST DAY TO DANCE CRAZY
DAY 13: TODAY YOU TAKE YOUR LAST NIACIN PILL
DAY 14: CROSS FINGERS AND PRAY
DAY 30(ish): TEST FOR THAT +++!!!
DAY 31: COMMENT ME BELOW AND LET ME KNOW THAT YOU ARE +/- !!
**** REACTIONS/FLUSHING****
Common reactions are:
- A burning sensation all over the body
- A warm feeling on your face
- Tingling in the fingers or toes
- Feeling light headed
- Nausea
If you lessen the dosage you will have a lesser reaction to it. It might also help if you drink a big glass of water when the reaction appears. I assure you that these kinds of reactions are fairly normal... do not panic, any sensation you may feel tends to disappear in about half of an hour, or so. If you are one of the un-luckies, just remember, that HOPEFULLY you will only have to do this for one time and then you will have a very big reward!!!! It might help if you can find a lesser dosage and take it more often instead of one big banger. And YES I know that the bottle says only one tablet every day, but this is the way it worked for me...and use common sense if you start having any of the symptoms listed on the bottle QUIT using the drug!!! Some people are more sensitive to the drug, and one of my friends found that when she used the regular 50mg NOT slow release formula that the symptoms were more noticeable (as far as the flushing/face redness and feeling hot)-just a note.
****SOME INFORMATION****
I've already talked to several doctors, they say that they know of no connection....
So, I've looked up on the Internet the purpose of NIACIN, and these are a list of web sites that will give you information on Niacin... As you read them, you will notice that some of them have conflicting info. Such as some of them say to take no more than 1000mg a day and I believe the others say something as high as 3000mg. Again, only use what you feel comfortable with!!! For me it only took one month on the Niacin, and (fingers crossed) I hope that's all it will take you good folks! Remember you also do not take this the whole month (depending on the length of your cycle and how long it takes you to ovulate after AF) you should only be on these pills for 10-16 days, depending on the length of your cycle. Also take note that many people are noticing that they are ovulating 2-5 days earlier than they would normally, while taking the Niacin.
Enough of my chatter... I hope that this list helps you ladies that want to do more research or need piece of mind...
If you look in the web pages, you will find that most of them say something to this effect:
-It is a vitamin/mineral (B3)
-It flushes toxic agents out of a person’s body
-It balances a females estrogen and progesterone (maybe that's why it works!)
-I also have been hearing that it helps thin the CM

I wanted to thank you for all the info. on Niacin! We found out yesterday that we are expecting our second child on 8/22/01!!!! - after 4 months of trying.
This was the first month I took the Niacin. I took 100 mg of Niacin from cd1-15, I also took a baby aspirin a day, drank green tea until o, and then red raspberry tea after!! I really tried to cover all my bases! Also, most importantly I prayed every single day!!!
We couldn't believe it when we saw 2 lines on the urine test and it was only
cd 30. I wasn't due to miss AF until cd31 or 32. I went and had a blood test confirm - hcg was at 271! I never did get a positive urine test with my ds who was born 10/12/98.
God's timing truly is perfect!!

I read your post about the Niacin trick you did and I have to tell you- it worked for me. I had my period on October 15th and read your post on the 17th. I started taking the Niacin on the 18th and stopped it around the
30th-31st. I was supposed to Ovulate on the 30th so I wanted to stop it as soon as possible after that. Around the end of the week- approximately
November 10th my breasts were starting to get really tender. I was due for my period either the 12th or the 13th. On the 12th I was so anxious that I tested and it was NEG --, but I didn't give up hope. I tested again on the 14th and again NEG--. I still hadn't had my period. I figured I would wait a week and try to test again if it didn't show up. I tested on the 21st and it was POS+++++++. I was afraid that it was just the test so I bought a different kind yesterday, the 22nd and tested again and another POS++++++..!! I really thought it was true and it confirmed. I want to thank you for the trick. I was a DEPO user and I had my last shot in Dec of 99 so I figured I would give it a try and see if it helped to get it out of my system. It worked!!! I am so thrilled.

That is a great story! Of course I believe I sent you my email that I am pregnant! I went to the Doc last Friday and go back in two weeks for a ultrasound. I am due around July 10, 2001. I am so excited I has unprotected sex from August 99- currently and never got pg. I used the Niacin in Oct. And BAM pg that month. I started having real tender breast and then no af and took a pg test and it was faint pos. then waited two days took again positive plain as day. Went to do following day and he confirmed that indeed I was pg. I do not understand how this stuff works but I tell you what I love Jessicca to death and I do not even know her. This is absolutely wonderful. I just wonder why doctors have not heard of this. You could be a miracle Jessicca. Well I better go thanks so much.

My husband and I have been trying to conceive since August of 1999, we tried IVF, which worked but resulted in a miscarriage at 6 weeks. In May of this year, I had a tubal reversal (which was supposed to be irreversible). Thinking all our problems were over we then find out I have a cervical mucus problem! So we try IUI's for several months. Total time of trying to conceive was 1 year and 3 months! Then I read a posting from Jessica on Babycenter.com, about a vitamin called Niacin, and the success she had with it. I couldn't help but try it, what could it hurt?? I started the Niacin on Day 1, and took it through 3 days past my ovulation on Day 16. Day 27 (usual cycle length) came and no period! So we decided to wait since I ovulated later, maybe I would start later. The days pass, and I started having tender breast and nausea. Finally we couldn't take it any longer and did a hpt on day 29, it was negative, so we decided to wait, figuring AF would arrive any day now. On Day 31 (Sunday) , still no AF, we test again, (using the Fact Plus Stick) we got a faint positive! I didn't know what to think! So we went out and bought another test to try one more time, before going to the doctor on Monday morning for the HCG test! It's Day 32 (Monday), and we test, it's still faint, but a little brighter! I am getting excited thinking WE ARE PREGNANT! I went to the doctors office that morning, and patiently waited miserably all day waiting for results, finally the call comes, Congratulations your test was POSITIVE! My HCG level was 151! Definitely positive! Immediately I thought about the Niacin, the first month of trying it, it worked! We still have a long way to go, and 2 more weeks to confirm with the ultrasound, but between now and then we'll be praying and thanking God for the blessings he has given us!

IT'S ++++++++!!!!!!!! I have been trying to conceive #2 for 4 months. I have been taking prenatal vitamins and b6 (for my short lp). I started taking Niacin this past month. I only took 250 mg a day (I am affraid to take ANYTING). I took the Slo Niacin 250mg. I thought I may have Ovulated early while I was on it. So, I tested at 9dpo and got a faint fait line. I retested the next day and it was darker. NOW, the next day, it is even DARKER!!! I have told everyone to try the niacin. That was the only thing I did different this month. I bd'd every day I had cm. THANK YOU JESSICCA for your insight!!
