The Most Common Penile Problems Causing Infertility

Phimosis and balanitis are the two most common penile problems causing infertility. Untreated phimosis can also lead to recurrent urinary tract infections. Usually this condition is characterized by intermittent fever, pain when urinating, not gaining weight, and decreased appetite. Perhaps, the baby has a urinary tract infection (UTI) due to phimosis. Phimosis is a condition when the foreskin of the penis is too tight, it cannot be pulled back past the head of the penis. As a result, when urinating, there is some retained urine that cannot come out. Another sign of phimosis is that the child has a fever. If there is an infection in the penis or in the urinary tract, a fever will appear, due to the growth of the bacteria earlier. To overcome phimosis, the child needs to be circumcised. With circumcision, the skin on the foreskin is removed so that there is no longer a narrowing of the tip of the foreskin. In addition to phimosis, there are also other disorders that make children need to be circumcised immediately. Male circumcision can be performed within a few days after the newborn. However, there are some things to consider because infant circumcision is a fairly complex procedure. The results of failed circumcision can be identified from the presence of the remaining foreskin. This makes the penis look like it is not circumcised. In addition, you may find a buildup of smegma on the head of the penis.
