Dragunov sniper rifle
The sniper rifle Dragunov (in Russian, Снайперская винтовка Драгунова, Snayperskaya Vintovka Dragúnova), in abbreviated form SVD, is a 7.62mm semi-automatic sniper rifle, designed by Evgeniy Fedorovich Dragunov in the Soviet Union between 1958 and 1963. SVD was the first semiautomatic rifle in the world designed specifically to be used in precision military shooting, and is common (in many of its variants) in the countries of the former Eastern Bloc.
