পৃথিবীকে গোলক ধরে এর আয়তন নির্ণয় করা হয়। গোলকের আয়তন নির্ণয়ের সূত্র হলো, V = ⁴⁄₃πr³
এখানে V = আয়তন, π = 3.1416, r = পৃথিবীর ব্যাসার্ধ (6371 km)
