Fact Check: Did Obama's Bilderberg Speech Say Small-Minded People Need To "Give Up their Rights"?

A: Yes and no.

There is a sound bite circulating around, allegedly about Obama's Bilderberg speech (and here) that suggests that he said "ordinary people are too small minded to govern their own affairs" and that a sovereign should take over and get rid of their rights. On the face of it, and in 2018 after all that's happened, his sound bite rings retroactively true, because after all, Obama has wildly degraded many of our personal digital rights to privacy and security in various ways, and has made us much less unsafe to pernicious propaganda thanks to the 2012 NDAA 'modernization of Smith-Mundt' which allows the US Government to lie to you over the airwaves, making Trump's assertion of "fake news" not some kind of a political disruption but an actual, material fact.

Flash forward to now: we're now living in an inverted totalitarianism where there is rampant lawlessness among our political elite, moral panic among at least 50% of the population with unpunished crimes that are wildly damaging to the US, an FBI whose name and trust from the citizenry was obliterated last Thursday from the release of the IG Report, leading to this notion that there is a dual justice system: One for peons like us where any one of us can go to jail for possessing a small amount of forbidden plant material; versus another system for politicians that can blackmail each other into silence and complicity; can murder US citizens for the sake of national security; can traffick illegal substances, weapons, humans, and organs; that can can sell our most precious industrial, military, human intelligence and rare mineral resources to our alleged 'greatest enemies' on Earth; and can walk about as if those repugnant activities ever happened. One system where we the peons are required to answer for our wrongdoings and accept punishment; versus another where the secrecy class, the ruling class can do the worst things in our society and simply clam up and use "national security", "State secrets privilege" as their human shield to protect them under the color-of-law of a secret law that seems to subvert the constitution.

In fact, the only way this situation can come about is if we are living in denial to the fact that on 9/11 this country has been in a military-intelligence junta with secret law that enables a small cabal of insiders to a miltarized secret society or criminal syndicate--however you look at it--to do anything they want under the color-of-law and we just have to accept this as a capitulation of the Constittuion and our country, generally

My point in the context of Obama's "Bilderberg speech" is that his speech is irrelevant: actions speak louder than words.

But since this post is about his words, we'll look at those words now. In fact, we'll let other youtube commenters do that for us
