So, the US needs to spend way more money with the intelligence industry to "counter the threat of continued Russian meddling in U.S. elections". Interesting that they left out the phrase "state sponsored", likely because there was no evidence of this whatsoever. But there certainly did appear to be plenty of state sponsored "meddling" from other countries.
Take my home Australia for example. We kicked the tin for at least $88 million (that we know of) of donations to the Clinton foundation (which potentially was run by Conman ). Lets not even factor in the other $460m given by both Liberal and Labor governments to other Clinton "enterprises", like the Global Partnership for Education. Government parliamentarians were also brazen in their support of Clinton.
But at least none of our government institutions directly provided assistance. Not sure the same can be said for our 5 eyes British cousin, with the involvement of GCHQ and MI6 in the creation of the dodgy Steele dossier.
