A new financial measure by Nicolás Maduro complicates the sending of remittances with the blocking of accounts to Venezuelans abroad, seeking ways to obtain foreign currency.

On Monday, August 27, the regime announced a heavy blow against Venezuelans abroad who keep their accounts in active bolivars, as it was learned that the Superintendency of the Banking Sector of Venezuela will block bank accounts that are handled from abroad; situation that will be detected by tracking the IP address.

Precisely blocking the bank accounts of those who enter from abroad, also prevents the attempts of thousands of Venezuelans to send remittances to Venezuela, forcing it to be done through the official exchange offices at a lower rate than the black market .

This situation will also prevent Venezuelans who are abroad from fulfilling their commitments in Venezuela, since many of those who emigrated still use their accounts to pay debts such as condominium payments, credit cards, loans.

In theory, from now on, Venezuelans who are outside the country will not be able to enter their accounts in order to make their respective payments in Venezuela; as well as those who wish to leave the country should notify.

The financial institutions received a circular from the Sudeban, where they are ordered to "inform their clients that they should notify the banking institution of their trips abroad, indicating destination places and travel time."

If not, Sudeban orders the financial institution to block the IP address from abroad, thus preventing access to the platforms of financial institutions from foreign IP addresses that have not been notified.

Superintendent of Sudeban, Antonio Morales, clarified that "the objective is to encourage the use of exchange houses, whose economic activity includes receiving and sending remittances from abroad".
