Okinawa, Empire & The Cost of Occupation

Quick video about some foreign policy events of the day, and really about how you end up with anti-American sentiment in the world. Occupation is never accepted for long, and the occupier always has to dehumanize the occupied.

I know it's not PC to admit but I'm very happy that the politicians in S-Korea want to give us the boot and become sovereign again. Okinawa doesn't exactly need our protection from Japan anymore imho either.
I'm glad you brought it up because like you I want these soldiers home if anywhere, Libertarians used to gain ground on that message but it seems to have gone to the wayside.

The South Koreans voted for their president for that exact reason. Trump is ironically just granting their wishes, slightly, and you see the true imperialists fighting him on it in the media. They are more worried about "US interests" then the will of the Korean people. Which is ironic for the side that runs around playing morality mom.

Okinawa is a mess. Chalmers Johnson's work on the results of occupation are worth a read:

Blowback: The Costs and Consequences of American Empire

I'm down to hear the reasons the globalists have to stay in Korea if we can end the war, should be funny at first at least.
They say sunlight is the best disinfectant, the deep state shills are exposed and they will have to find a new to spin this.

Well...

"Far from being a defensive force, the U.S. troops project US power in the region aimed at challenging China and making sure pro-US regional governments stay in power, according to Christine Ahn, co-founder of the Korea Policy Institute.

“The bases insure US political, military and economic interests,” she told me. “There’s always the threat of a US military incursion to advance corporate interests.”."
