Last year SVT (Swedish televison) reported that threats and violence in schools had doubled in 5 years from 2012-2017. The violence is harder and the way students respond to teachers and principals is very different - says the principal at Wendela Hellman school, Ulla Nystrom Theander.
February this year, teachers hit the alarm bell again. It is now very common that PARENTS show up in the schools and threaten the teachers. Yes..Sven and Ola sure has changed these past couple of years.
A lot of schools also don't report in violence and threats because it will be bad for the school's reputation.
A new survey shows that 7/10 municipalies has ordered extraordinary security measures. ID cards, locked doors, cameras and DNA mark on valuable equipment.
