I don't think, you should remove it. Just change the pictures and it should be alright. Changing them is also for your own protection: some lawyers are specialized in suing copyright violations.

Well, I know, that I may seem narrow-minded, but I'm not satisfied with the referencing ;)

Just using "wikipedia.org" or another website with its main page is not proper referencing. I assume, you have used certain sources to write your article - just link the exact websites you've used.
