I think you're right that this is exactly what it looks like. I also think it looks like Trump is about to be rolled by Mueller et.al. back home. But, I sincerely think looks are very deceiving. The people who have been neutered are the ones that have financed and advocated for decades of ruinous U.S. foreign policy.

I expect that Israel will continue to push desperately for war but will, in the end, fail. The Saudis are not in any position financially or militarily to attack Iran without being wiped out. Don't forget, if you believe that North Korea has nuclear weapons... then you have to believe that Iran does as well.

And that, truly, changes everyone's calculus. The sabre-rattling will continue but the U.S. Deep State just lost so much of its backing it's not funny. Indictments aplenty will occur in the U.S. that will change the look of U.S. politics for a long time.
