There is a famous tunnel under the famous channel that connects the UK and the EU. On Thursday, there was a light at the EU end of the tunnel. But on the UK side we still have total darkness…
New Brexit round was opened on October 14th, with the Queen’s Speech. In the last installment of Brexit saga, we left Boris Johnson with the new “cunning plan” which stretched out all the hair on the head of Nigel Farage. A “new deal“? It’s a Treaty!
But before we turn to Boris Johnson and his new agreement with EU, just one more note about the “Queen’s Speech”. It is actually a speech provided by government (it is delivered by the Queen from the throne of the House of Lords, but it is written by ministers), aimed to highlight priorities in its policy.
In the first paragraph of the Speech, it is said:
My Government’s priority has always been to secure the United Kingdom’s departure from the European Union on 31 October. My Government intends to work towards a new partnership with the European Union, based on free trade and friendly cooperation [European Union (Withdrawal Agreement) Bill].
And so, on Thursday, at the press conference in Brussels, Jean-Claude Juncker announced: “We have a deal. There’s no need for any kind of prolongation.”
Duration: 5:33
Bright light at the EU end of the tunnel. Done deal, right? End of Saga?
Wrong again!
Boris Johnson still has to push his deal through the House of Commons, and there already is a majority assessment that his “cunning plan” (which Baldrick would envy) is even worse than Theresa May’s record-breaking bad plan. DUP is not satistfied, Sinn Fein is not satisfied, Jeremy Corbyn is not satisfied, Nicola Sturgeon is not satisfied, and the worst of all, “people’s voice” Nigel Farage is not satisfied.
So, on Saturday (tomorrow), instead of a historical session in the House of Commons, we can expect one more hysterical session. MPs will reject the plan, and what then?
- You don’t want to allow no-deal Brexit, Juncker said “no need for any kind of prolongation”, so new general elections?
- We don’t want to allow no-deal Brexit, Juncker said “no need for any kind of prolongation”, so no Brexit
- We cannot agree, so we’ll ask the people again in referendum — until they vote no-Brexit
Now, if those three options seem to you like an attempt to exhaust the Brexit voters, you are probably right. And you would also be right if you think that no-deal Brexit is missing from the list of options. All of that could bring the British Island to a revolt like has never been seen since 1640.
And while Nigel Farage will almost certainly rise in the course of events, once again George Galloway can explain the situation with a simple and understandable language:

So, what do you think? Is Boris Johnson another “stable genius” with a “cunning plan” to extort no-deal Brexit, or another bureaucratic clown with the aim to make a betrayal of democracy fun and acceptable? Let’s hope Julian Assange won’t be forgotten when the fuss starts.
Don’t forget Julian Assange!

To be honest I do not understand the problem. Start with something and see how to change it after that. You cannot blame the EU for it. As I understand it is Scotland and (Nort) Ireland who want it different or their way.
I believe the UK is not united since long. ☹
You have my (discord) vote. I wish you a happy Saturday. 👍💕

The shortest explanation you can find here @wakeupkitty, but you can choose any link to start understanding fundamental clash between democracy and totalitarianism.

At the moment I cannot find anything. I cannot load anypost or site (by clicking on a link) not even google works.
The only thing I can say now is: there was a life before the EU and no war in Europe and there is a life without the EU. Switzerland is a good example and the only country where the economics grew during the EU years.
If all countries are willing their is a solution but what they want is to get their "right". They do not care about being united at all.

I thought the links at the end of my text. They work without a problem.
And of course you are right: “there was a life before the EU”. And the EU is scared to death that someone could fare better without them. It would be a stake into the heart of the aspiring vEmpire ;)

😆 yes, and they love to scare us all to death plus there will be less in the wallet for them to spend... Oh no, they will tell us to pay more.
I believe their biggest fear is more countries want to get out of it. If one starts the rest will follow. The membership of this club is too expensive. They were too stupid to listen to the signs of the people.. should have taken gas back a bit for a while.
I wish you a great day, didn't follow the news (no tv since years and newspapers give me stress, the shouting headlines already do.)
