OH...lol... Yea, it's a major drawback of the platform, especially since hardfork 21 made it so the downvoter suffers no loss in steem, no matter how much he/she downvotes others.

Downvoting a post can decrease pending rewards and make it less visible. Common reasons:

  • Disagreement on rewards
  • Fraud or plagiarism
  • Hate speech or trolling
  • Miscategorized content or spam
