WHY DO NOT I VOTE TO VOTE TODAY? - VENEZUELA

in informationwar •  6 years ago

Today, December 9, 2018, is a local election day. But I do not plan to leave my house. I will not vote, although the act of voting is one of the most important in democracy. The reason? It is not one, but several. In the first place, Venezuela is not in a democracy, but trapped by one of the most disgusting and corrupt dictatorships in the world, so the importance of voting is suspended, it does not exist.

Second, because there is no one to vote for: no exceptions, the candidates in this jurisdiction are absolutely unworthy. Let's start by explaining that the mayor of Mérida (for whom I voted at the time) is the Adeco Alcides Monsalve, former leader of the Estudiantes de Mérida soccer team, which has turned out to be a very bad mayor. It seems that he is more time drinking whiskey in the Belensate hotel than in his offices in the City Hall, in the Urdaneta Avenue, and the case that is that Merida is every day more full of garbage, the public services are every day worse, the streets are they seem more and more to the surface of the Moon, and an annoying and unpleasant etcetera.

His first act of government was to accuse in an unjust or slanderous way his predecessor, Carlos García, of Primero Justicia, who had been sabotaged and persecuted by the Chavistas, with which he blatantly attempted against the unity of the Democrats. Then he devoted himself, besides the consumption of whiskey and waste of time, to shamelessly seeking the support of the Chavistas, and he succeeded.

In today's elections it is supported by a coalition of chaotic opportunists, where the party of Henry Falcon, the MAS and the so-called "Socialist Copei" are, and they say that under the Democratic Action cord, which here has become another allied party (clandestinely) of Maduro and his combo, possibly as an effect of Ramos Allup's business with the regime. As if to finish off his mismanagement, Monsalve deployed yesterday, Saturday, December 8, dozens of human teams with large trucks to pick up the garbage that fills the space with bad smells and zamuros. Why had not he done it before? Why a day before the elections? If he could yesterday, he could always, but he did not give a damn if the city sank into rubbish.

So it would be, to say the least, immoral to support Monsalve in his twisted management. Other groups are the Ecological, José Luis Prado, who has been Adeco, Justiciero, A New Time and A Single People, that is, a mountebank with tints of opportunism. There is also the group ACEP (Acción Ciudadana En Positivo), whose leader, Griselda Reyes, also has a complicated story that also makes her a mountebank, although we must recognize that he is the least lousy group in the league.

The rest are the Chavistas, with their frauds and their traps, also favored by an illegitimate CNE, confirmed by an illegitimate Legislative Assembly and as part of an illegitimate regime. Simply, not even with a handkerchief on the nose can vote, at least here in Merida. What not to vote is to give the Chavistas power? It is true, but with its traps, its carousel and its frauds they have already tied it, they are already clinging like a shark to their prey.

I prefer to bet that soon, between the economic reality, international pressure and the anger of the people, they will be able to get rid of them forever, in which case, it is the same to vote as not to vote. For a while they will have it easy, but later they will have it impossible. Venezuela will once again be free and democratic, and the continent and we will be able to rest from the chavista evil that already smells like rottenness. Like the streets of Merida.
