Simple News Aggregation: AOC - Ocasio-Cortez - The Gift that Keeps On Giving: Wednesday, March 13th, 2019 - AOC Blames Oil Spill on a Pipeline That Didn't Exist YET. (yet another forehead slapping moment)

in informationwar •  6 years ago

I don't go out of my way planning some of these aggregations, but the amount of material I keep encountering is a flood. It almost demands it be shared to as many people as possible to counter the narrative that is being pushed by legacy/big corporate media.

Ocasio-Cortez Blames Pipeline That Hasn’t Been Built Yet For An Oil Spill

Democratic New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez blamed the Keystone XL pipeline for leaking about 5,000 barrels of oil in rural South Dakota about two years ago.

There’s just one problem: The Keystone XL pipeline has not been built yet.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez: People Should Be "Excited" To Be "Automated Out Of Work"

Somewhere out there is a bot that can replace Rep. Alexandria Ocasio Cortez. It needn't be very bright. It doesn't have to be any smarter than the bots that post, "How you can make a trillion dollars working from home" in the comments.

And that would still make it too intelligence. But once we replace Cortez with a bot, we'll see how excited she is.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez: Reagan Used ‘Racist’ Caricatures to Divide Americans

Saturday at the South by Southwest Conference & Festivals in Austin, TX, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) said former President Ronald Reagan used “racist,” caricatures to pit “white working-class Americans against brown and black working-class Americans.

Ocasio-Cortez said, “One perfect example, I think a perfect example of how special interests and the powerful have pitted white working-class Americans against brown and black working-class Americans in order to just screw over all working-class Americans, is Reaganism in the ’80s when he started talking about welfare queens.”

She added, “So you think about this image; welfare queens and what he was really trying to talk about was he was painting this photo, he was painting this like really resentful vision of essentially black women who were doing nothing that were ‘sucks’ on our country. And it’s this whole tragedy of the commons type of thinking where it’s like because these one, this one specific group of people, that you are already kind of subconsciously primed to resent, you give them a different reason that’s not explicit racism but still rooted in a racist caricature. It gives people a logical reason, a ‘logical’ reason to say, ‘oh yeah, no, toss out the whole social safety net.'”

Uh-oh! AFL-CIO Says Green New Deal 'Could Cause Immediate Harm to Millions'

You know a socialist plan is certifiably bad when a labor organization disagrees with it. Those two entities have perceivably walked hand-in-hand for years.

So for the nation’s largest collection of unions, the American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations (AFL-CIO), to vehemently disagree with possibly the most radical plan in the history of the United States should say something to everyone, regardless of someone’s political persuasion.

In a letter to both Sen. Ed Markey (D-Mass.) and socialist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.), the AFL-CIO Energy Committee said that they “will not accept proposals that could cause immediate harm to millions of our members and their families.”

That wasn’t the only less-than-complimentary thing the letter said about the Green New Deal:

Rep. Ocasio-Cortez: If Financial Institutions ‘Kick the Can,’ ‘Who Will Pay for Climate Change?’

If financial institutions like Wells Fargo “conveniently kick the can,” instead of taking financial responsibility for financing oil pipelines, “Who will pay for climate change?” Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) asked Tuesday night following her interrogation of Wells Fargo CEO Timothy Sloan.

Rep. Ocasio-Cortez tweeted a Twitter post and video by CSPAN of her exchange with Sloan during a House Financial Services Committee hearing earlier in the day. “This, right here, is a problem,” Ocasio-Cortez said, introducing her commentary:

Rep. Ocasio-Cortez Blames Wells Fargo for 'Caging of Children,' Climate Change

(CNSNews.com) - Wells Fargo CEO Timothy Sloan told Congress on Tuesday that his company does not put profits over people.

But some committee Democrats refuted that, criticizing Wells Fargo for financing industries that they oppose, including the gun industry, private prisons, and oil pipelines.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) criticized Wells Fargo for financing "the caging of children" at ICE detention facilities, a charge he rejected.

She also asked Sloan why his bank shouldn't be held responsible for the "damage incurred by climate change," since Wells Fargo was among the banks that financed the Dakota Access pipeline.

My favorite congress person.

Who needs comedy shows? She out does them.

You know, she seems to be front running crazy, so less headline grabbing crazy slips past.
