Yes it is as I said the Magna Carta is the document that basically established the principal that not even the King is above the law. It is the first thing that is claimed by the researchers about the document and you can see it in all of its glory here:

The history of the Magna Carta is one of extreme force. Many would say extreme violence, however the document became a rock solid contract when the owner of the Crown (the Vatican Pope) accepted it for the right to crusade. LOL
