Yes, thinking beyond normal is where progress comes in. I worked with a high GPA Engineer that could NOT design his way out of a wet paper bag! He could do what he was told, but NO new concepts, period!

I directed him for years. Then I found he was claiming credit for it, so I stopped helping. He was not happy. He was a cancer, so I went elsewhere; to a much better job. He crashed and burned.
