The police put more weight in the Jane Tanner sighting of another man who was right beside the apartments.

For example, people read an email about a Ligurian pasta dish with walnut sauce, and couldn't understand why anyone would have walnut sauce with pasta. They therefore decided that 'walnut' must mean little coloured children. Yet, here is John Podesta on video cooking that exact dish and making the walnut sauce in a blender.

Podesta is well known for his cooking and some of the other emails make sense once you know that, and explore other background emails and articles online. For example, TD Stern sent an email saying he was dreaming about John's hot dog stand in Hawaii. In this article from 2000, Tony explains that John (the avid cook), sometimes talks about retiring from politics and having a simple hot dog stand in Hawaii. So clearly TD Stern has also heard John say that and because he is about to undergo weeks of hard work, he makes reference to it:
