Head injuries..

Hello everyone. How's everyone's Christmas going so far?. Mine was alright, up until I injured my head which resulted in a trip to the hospital. So everything is normally closed on Christmas, so that left my boyfriend and I wondering on what to do for our Christmas day evening. However I didn't intend on injuring myself, so yeah that's where I'm at as I write this. How did it happen you ask, well here goes nothing. So I went into my bedroom, to look for something. I pushed the dresser away, and then the mirror that was standing on it fell onto my head. It hit my head, which cause me to go ow. My boyfriend asked if I was okay, and I continued to say ow. He came into the bedroom, and took a look at my head, where the mirror hit it. There was blood. I didn't pass out, but felt tired afterwards. I sat down, and might I add even though the mirror only hit the left side of my head, I felt pain on the right side straight afterwards. I feel as though the hit of my head caused my brain to transfer to the other side, which caused the slight pain. I didn't pass out as mentioned, but I did have pain obviously. As well as a cut, and I felt shaky. I then started laughing hysterically. My boyfriend asked why I was laughing so much, and I didn't know why. So here I am, writing this waiting to see a doctor. I was told when I first got here to this section of the hospital, that they may just glue it. However i'm more concerned about my brain being injured, as I'm aware that you don't mess around with brain injuries. I also have had a headache since. Nothing too much, but still a headache so of course i'm not messing around with this. Lesson learned, when there is a mirror on top of a dresser be cautious. I wasn't trying to hurt myself, but it just happened I suppose as these things happen?

Dont worry, I have had a severe head injury and your brain can heal. You likely dont have any major trauma but if you had a recent concussion there can be swelling which can cause dizziness and confusion. The best thing you can do for the next week is just rest your head and do not do anything jarring. Take some tylenol every 6 hours to keep the swelling down. Just relax and youll feel better soon!

Hey thanks, I only went to the hospital for precautions kinda deal.

Thats a very good idea! I hope you checked out alright
