in innervoice •  7 years ago  (edited)

Rape, a four-letter word, but so much horror and trauma hidden behind the 4 letters. The news on Rape is regular now a day, whether you be reading Newspaper or watching Television We often come across of Rape news now a day, it is every day event, some get noticed whereas many get unnoticed. The cruelty on women has engulfed entire regions, and spread from Rural areas to Metropolitan cities. From small country to big continents, no state is spared from the heinous crime.

Across, the nation Rape is happening at a very large rate and the victim falls in all age brackets, from minor to teenager, there is no limits of Girl abusing. We can find voluminous date and big stack of cases on internet.

Whenever any such incidence takes place, Media comes in the forefront and started telecasting the case by explaining each sequence of event. Not sure the real motive behind the telecasting, be it TRP ratings or just for social cause Media, repeatedly telecast the case which is being followed by social media and it spreads like ball of fire across any nation.

Many wise people of society start commenting on the news, Politicians started playing their politics by arguing, raising fingers on each other. The social activists come forward with candles and hoardings and they go on marching against a justice for the victims. Now some people started donating money for the victim.

What ‘s all this happening around? Do any of them ever think of the Trauma and Horror the victim and their family going through?? Do this kind of protest really helps to solve the problem?

Being a man, I could not be good judge, so to take the feel I went to my close friend “Amarjeet”, who happen to be a girl, and tried to know how she able to react and cope with the flashing Rape news on the Social Media and Television.

She said something like this

I feel very hurted. I am not able to stand up with this pain and often walks away from the room. I don’t feel to listen the detailed story and plight of that victim. It’s very painful. I often ask from myself why media is projecting the cases in this manner, may be media is making people aware of all crimes happening in the country. Though I feel that this kind of reporting can’t drop the rate of these kind of incidences. Its only creating fear among the people. As a common people of Indian society, I don’t feel myself secure. Every time we move out of home, we think of our security. Parents are worried for their girl children. We check out and make all security reasons. The fear has taken up such a place on our heart that even among the well-suited people, i often think Am I safe? Why? Why we are living in this fear. Why the system has too many loop holes? Why Government of India is not able to implement all the norms and to provide us the secure cities and a secure country. Women is the major pillar of society why we are at such a pity position.

With so many of these questions, in everyone mind, now I feel that we need to bring change in positive manner and as we all know that media keeps an important place in society and media can contribute a lot by show casing the positive reporting .

The Media need to do the root cause analysis. Why a man become an animal and do this brutal act. The mindset of people towards women, the system, the circumstances or conditions, all the factors that invokes a man to do this sin need to be showcased. A collective effort is required to fight against this evil.

Most of the population of the nation is not educated and due to this they don’t give women a respectable place so they need to be educated. Talk shows can be telecasted wherein all issues related to rape can be discussed and measures can be taken to eradicate this from the society. Open discussions on this matter need to be take place.
My inner voice says:
“A woman is a symbol of Love, Beauty and Perseverance. Give them a secured society, an open environment to breathe and to grow, give them a freedom to flaunt their dignity”.

It is the moral responsibility of a men, to respect a woman. People need to come forward with the responsible factors and how those factors can be removed rather than enlightening of candles, marching and hoardings.

We should not cry over the spill milk rather we should come collectively to solve the issues or problems. In addition to this, strict rules and punishments need to be enforced.

I am very glad to see this being addressed especially from a male perspective..... being a woman is hard, even on the internet the jokes about rape and even threats disgust me. I bite my tongue because of the dynamics that are tolerated and encouraged at times but as more women onboard to steemit , more knowledge and less tolerance for harassment will happen..... it's a horrid crime and the culture must change, either that or women need to pick up arms and start fighting back

Womens are super power of her own....once they come out of her shyness or whatever keep them bounded...noone would dare to look at them with bad intention

Rape is evil, Not sure why many haven't grasped that fact yet.
The trauma alone is enough to paralyze ones emotions ...

Agree @gvincentjosephm evry human being deserve respect .....they need to understand the pain and suffering of other....

Hey @steemflow thanks for writing this. Indeed more and more awareness and louder voices should be advocating for men to understand that this is a horrible and heinous crime. Though I believe they do know it but think that they can get away with it. Hence, punishments should be meted out to the perpetrators and protection given to the victims. It is still happening rampantly because the opposite is happening. The victims are being shamed publically and even threatened whilst the perpetrators simply walk free to cause more harm

Thanks @khimgoh every men should respect every women....need to change the mindset

I strongly condemn those activities, its a punch that you filed her hurting words as complaint here

Didnt get you..😒

Sorry for the shortcut!, I said: I strongly condemn those violence activities, this post is a punch to them who involved in the crime. The victim's complaint has been recorded in this article

I am glad that this post is coming from a man! Thank you for raising this issue. My 100% upvote and support for this post.
I wish every man was sensitive and respectable towards women. I feel the education should start from home. When such rape cases come under light , the family tries to cover their son/ brother. Well, it is a long battle for which everybody has to come together to fight against it.

Thanks....👍 its men who get identity from a women...men should not forget that and always respect a women

this world deserves better and people like you who has awareness will change the world, life is good women are best

Nicely presented
